I'd bring out the percussion a little more.

    I liked it, good work.

I'll keep that in mind when I revise this song.

After playing the song for a number of times, I quick-fixed the volume of drumbeat and the very awkward ending phrase and re-uploaded it.

Your BPM is really 115. Your tempo is half that of what a true 230 crazy bpm track would be.

The track I feel could have use more percussion, all I hear are hats and a snare... Try adding more, and even layering the drums at least... Sometimes there are cymbals and toms...

The melody was good, but I feel that there should have been more substance, cuz you had the bassline and flute in the background, but that one same synth was used for the entirety of the track...

Definitely keep up the good work and keep practicing...

I think you probably could have done some more with the flute.
In the section where the flute kind of takes over (2:02 - 2:35) bring the percussion down a bit and add some percussion diversity to it. Make it quiet yet distinct. Then, while you are letting the flute kind of play out the melody, add a layer of synth that is soft and kinda gives it a harmony.

Exactly! I definitely need a good amount of practice on varying usage of instruments, especially drum parts.

You really caught what I lack by just hearing one song!

            Thanks for the advice. =)

            o_O That's a quite detailed advice, I appreciate it! =D

The biggest advise I could ever give is that you're making music either off the top of your head and not sure what genre you're making (Which I do that sometimes) or you know exactly the sound you're going for. If the latter. Say, you LOOOVE Paul Oakenfold, and you wana make trance like his. Rebuild his track. Doesn't have to be harmony and melody redone, but the structure of the track and the percussion, and buildups.

What that will help you do is to learn how to layer drums. How long measures should be. When to bring in and out synths and percussion. How loud different elements of the track should be. Techniques. Envelopes. etc etc

That is my one piece of advise

Re: leonid's latest song: "Soar Up!"

For me, it picks up when it reaches 1:28 when you get the synths working so well together

The start reminds me of a game on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis, but I can't remember what game.

In my opinion, you need slightly stronger bass. I can hardly feel it on my headphones and bass is pretty much on full, but that could be due to equalisation.

I like the fast synth passage also at around the 0:50 mark.

Something about the drums is slightly off putting though. The drum kit you've used, is not exactly the right type of drum kit, but I don't know how to describe that. It comes across as sounding acoustic in nature (not the song, but the drums).
It's probably because the drums are definietly sounding MIDI based, with no difference in volume etc, like a human player would create. Thats what I think is doing it.

But I like the chords also at 2:40 onwards.

So yeah, more bass, change the drum kit, add volume differences instead of rolls, for instance, have a bass drum go from quiet to loud in a quick succession, for instance.

Plus, for an ending, try adding in the togetherness that you got at 1:28 for a big finish

Just woke up, quite a nice little piece to wake up to :P

zajac is on the money with his advise, but nonetheless, this is a good tune. Can't wait to hear the revised/re-released version in the near future

                    I completely disagree with that.

Coming from a producer, and an avid listener of all types of electronic music since I was born, I would say, "STICK WITH THE ROLLS YOU HAVE" Not ever track needs succession of kicks, or snares, or hates, with an increasing volume envelope. It gets old after a while. I mean, I do it, but not all the time. Rolls are good if you pull it off well, which it IS in this track. You'll often hear Carl Cox do drum rolls in some of his tracks.

And don't worry about changing 'the drum kit' ... Just layer some samples to have a fuller sound.
