    If We Could Touch the Sky

    Minimalist trance, not a genre I have any experience in. I wrote the main melody about a year ago, and just now found a use for it.

    I was going to make this in my typical trance style (and most likely still will), but the last few songs I made got some negative comments about the songs sounding muddled, and the bass being too loud. This is my response to that, somewhat.

    C&C appreciated as always.

          Hm, sorry you don't like the melody.. I personally think this is one of the best I've written :/

          But to each his own. I kind of noticed the kick seemed a bit too accented too, I might change that.

              The title of the song was even worse.

                                  I felt that this track was very bass-line driven, and as such, should have been more melodic, instead of as repetitive as it was... Know what I mean?

                                  Otherwise I liked the pads, kicks sounded a bit too high frequency and snappy...

                                  And the buildup where the kicks would snap sounded ok, but I don't know, it could have been better, maybe if just again not so high frequency...

                                  But I agree. The harmony and melody is very well written and I thoroughly enjoyed the atmospheric vibe, I don't get where all this negative feedback from people is coming from. I just wish the bassline was more melodic is my main concern...

                                  7/10 from me due to the repetitive bassline.
