    Stepping songs at .1x speed rate or less?

    .3x has always been slow enough for me, however right now I'm stepping a synthesized song so all the notes remain crisp regardless of the speed reduction. Some of the really fast bursts are kinda tough to assign notes to though . Is there any way to play a song at .1x or less? Maybe even .05x?

    Thanks, guys!

      Sounds tough . Would it be?

      Seems so weird to me that going down to .1x isn't just standard =/.

        You can. You need to edit the Metrics.ini and the english.ini.

        this is what I have:
        In metrics:
        Rate=18,together
        RateDefault=
        Rate,1=mod,0.15xmusic;name,0.15x
        Rate,2=mod,0.2xmusic;name,0.2x
        Rate,3=mod,0.25xmusic;name,0.25x
        Rate,4=mod,0.3xmusic;name,0.3x
        Rate,5=mod,0.35xmusic;name,0.35x
        Rate,6=mod,0.4xmusic;name,0.4x
        Rate,7=mod,0.45xmusic;name,0.45x
        Rate,8=mod,0.5xmusic;name,0.5x
        Rate,9=mod,0.6xmusic;name,0.6x
        Rate,10=mod,0.7xmusic;name,0.7x
        Rate,11=mod,0.8xmusic;name,0.8x
        Rate,12=mod,0.9xmusic;name,0.9x
        Rate,13=mod,1.0xmusic;name,1.0x
        Rate,14=mod,1.1xmusic;name,1.1x
        Rate,15=mod,1.2xmusic;name,1.2x
        Rate,16=mod,1.3xmusic;name,1.3x
        Rate,17=mod,1.4xmusic;name,1.4x
        Rate,18=mod,1.5xmusic;name,1.5x

        In english: (basically just make it match)

        0.15x=0.15x
        0.2x=0.2x
        0.25x=0.25x
        0.3x=0.3x
        0.35x=0.35x
        0.4x=0.4x
        0.45x=0.45x
        0.5x=0.5x
        0.6x=0.6x
        0.7x=0.7x
        0.8x=0.8x
        0.9x=0.9x
        1.0x=1.0x
        1.1x=1.1x
        1.2x=1.2x
        1.3x=1.3x
        1.4x=1.4x
        1.5x=1.5x

        You should be able to find those places, they aren't that hard to find.

        Stepping stuff at <.3x isn't very much help though. the song quality just gets too shoddy. Personally, if there are some syncing issues, I stick around .4x. If it's a rhythm problem, then just guess, check with assist tick at .4, fix, repeat.

          That's why I specified synthesized songs cuz I know things can get severely distorted at just .3x with band music, etc.

          Anyways thanks, dude! I'll try to find that.

            It's that far down, if you're still looking. The english is pretty short, you can probably find that easily.

                idk if it's just me but I think that's pretty bad if you can't tell what type of note a sound is at .3x rate >_>

                PM me if you find the secret.

                  For one, that's True. I commonly can find the right notes at regular rate, and if its a difficult random burst of sh!t like Venetian Snares music, 0.5x works.

                  For two, editing the metrics.ini wont lower the rate anymore. Its a set system and SM wont allow anything below 0.3x to be used (Zero told me that years ago)

                  For three, IF your stepping songs at that speed, you realy shouldnt be stepping at all. Unless your file is 'OMG-WTF-AMAZIN-GOODNESS'

                    There's no need to go down to .3x, you'll just be hearing things you can't even hear on 1.0x.

                      it could be a live song (or use live samples) and you might be really, really anal about exact 192nd placement

                      it can't hurt anyway

                          You guys need to read the OP.

                          I'm referring to applying this to a synthesized song in which case extreme speed reduction like that exceeding .3x wouldn't distort the song or permit "ambient" sounds from interferring.

                          Also the song wouldn't just be stepped at .3x. 1x speed would eb used to find PR.

                          Holy fuk, you guys need to read before posting.

                            slow the song down in audacity then step the slowed down song. adjust to regular speed when ya done

                            ps: going past .6x makes everything sound like **** to me and is counterproductive imo

                              if it's a good quality mp3/ogg and there's not too much noice lower rates sound fine
