    Something Good

I made these two songs for my Video Game.

    Please don't steal!! =0

    Critique please! =P

I didn't use any samples or anything, just my own little melodies. =3

EDIT: THEY ARE NOT FINISHED YET!!!

Don't not steal? So you're granting us permission to steal then? lol

Music seems repetitive and dull in my opinion, but I guess it's that way for a reason.

Well, to be honest, I don't like it at all.

Yeah, I agree... extremely repetitive. I guess it works for the medium though.

Some nice ideas, the quality's pretty low though.

Re: A couple songs from my Video Game

First song: As others have said, very repetitive. There are subtle differences in some moments, but it doesn't really make a difference. It'd be ok for a town scene (I'm imagining an RPG), but this is nothing grandiose.

Second: A little better than the first, still very repetitive.

My suggestion, replace some of those melody phrases with a different melody or a bridge.

Good start though. You've got the song concept, now you just gotta form it a little bit. There's no need to make this intensely complex and all out music, that's not exactly the main focus of a video game (well, most).

Sounds like something from Runescape. Slightly better from the first two, but not by a whole lot.

              ^^I don't think this one's repetitive imo

EDITCan you explain what's wrong with them, please?)

Actually...the techno is, melody-wise. Reminds me of the sewer scene from the Ninja Turtles video game back for the SNES.

I heard your song before you posted it up LOL. Just to see how your songs were.

Seriously, guys, is there anything else wrong with my songs?
I mean I know they're repetitive, but I've heard many great game soundtracks that are also repetitive..

Re: A couple songs from my Video Game

You're right, a lot of ingame songs are really repetitive, so you're given plenty of slack to work with. Honestly, I'd say you can put them in game as is. But we're just poking at the music to improve the quality of them.

Home At Last: Very repetitive (I bet you're getting tired of hearing that word). Since it's a VG song, no major change necessary, but I would suggest adding in a bridge in a few places where the melody repeats. At the generally slow pace it goes and the melody line ends on the fifth of the scale (if my ears serve me correctly), then it should be easy to work something else there and have it flow well within the song as long as you keep the same rhythm.

Wind That Speak To Me: I like this one better, has elements that the first one doesn't have (brief breaks from the melody with a nice harmonic line). For a VG, I'd say little change is needed. Biggest suggestion I could make is to try the original melody (the one that starts at ~7.5 secs into the song) with a different instrument, perhaps a piano w/dampner pedal? Just a suggestion.

Something good: Again, if it's for a VG, I like it. My favorite of the three.
