75,000 credit Contest: Sound effect Artist. & possible job offer

I'm trying to update my portfolio, and will be making a few 3d movie shorts over the next few weeks.

I'm great with the modeling, animation, composite work and such, but I honestly cannot for the life of me make a good sound effect lineup for any of them.

This is where one of you could come in. You will be taking a video, and creating sound clips to go along with it, prefer the clips to be things that YOU made, and not just pulled off the internet, I need someone with a good ear and a good eye, who thinks they are up for the job. You must be very professional about all of this, I want clean high quality sound.

If you do a good enough job on these, you will be hired for future works as well, and will be paid accordingly (yes real money).

For now though, I need to see who would be up for something like this, here is a 9 second animation work, filmed by XXXsmittyXXX and special effect work done by myself.

    download here(10.17mb) http://www.webfile.ws/d/7738
    or watch here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_xmfVh9c9U

Your job is to add a sound layer to it, as best you can, host the file in mp3 or wav format, and submit it to me in this thread. I will choose the best one, main points of focus are quality, flow, accuracy, and most important, creativity.

Prize for the winner will be 75,000 credits, and you will get to work with my next film, which will be a much more in-depth animation. Do a good job on that and we will talk about payments and future work together.

I realize FFR probably isn't the best place to turn, for this sort of thing, but it's worth a shot.

Yes, one sound file that goes with the video clip.

I'm confused, we need to create sound effects for this, but they have to be original? Are you talking about sound engineering?

I doubt FFR has the kind of mentality for that, though I could be wrong. I might be able to do this if you don't need brand new sounds, but short of finding them on the internet, there's nothing I can do to help.

If you CAN make your own, that would be awesome, but if its a sound clip that is free to use, that's fine, just as long as none of it is copyrighted.

Easy enough to put together, hard to create the sounds at high quality. :S

Ok, You've got my attention. ^_^

Any sort of deadline, or is it pretty much until you find one that fits just right?

dormir, your video doesn't work, and it shouldn't take hours for youtube to process it xD
                  try re-uploading it.

As far as a deadline goes, lets shoot for next Friday, the 9th.

After that I'll turn my attention elsewhere if nobody comes through.

If you guys even make a decent attempt at a sound overlay for this, I'll give you 10k even if you don't win.

ok well I reuploaded it but that probably just sent it to the back of the line to get processed. Doesn't really matter though, try this: http://h1.ripway.com/drdevice/smitty%20with%20sound.mov

I really liked the sound for the eye blast, but the end was meh, think you could expand on it a little?

                        just the sound file: http://h1.ripway.com/drdevice/smittysound.wav

I kinda wished it didn't just cut to smitty fatality at the end, I want it to keep going so I know what types of sounds to use, but this should give you an idea. I kinda imagined you shoot a big lazer thing a couple hundred yards and then it crashes into something a second later, despite the fact that you're clearly sitting inside.

I don't think the mechanical clanking and whirling work with what's supposed to be a kind of magical explosion.

Just my input, though, I don't think I'd be able to do much better.

I'm having trouble with making something for the flame ball at the end, particularly matching it with the way it's charged up. Seems electric, but doesn't seem to pulsate electrically or something.

Here's what I have right now, just a sound file:
