    Ripping and editting DVDs?

How do you do it? What programs do you need and where can you get them? I mean I've seen numerous youtube vids that're a compilation of various clips from DVDs. I just don't know how they do it.

    Thanks, guys!!

I haven't even tried it yet. I just assumed that there'd be problems. I was just kinda looking for a step-by-step guide.

Step One: Try extracting the files. Put them in a folder somewhere on their own.

Step Two: Open the folder and find the video. Try watching it.

Step Three: Tell me how it goes.

lol OK I'll try that. Still, assuming that works, how do i edit the video? Like shorten it or divide it into sections (ex: part 1, 2,, etc.). Would windows movie maker work?

Are you trying to edit a DVD that has a copyright?

No, he's trying to take parts of a DVD to post on YouTube.

                  Oh ok.

You can edit videos with Windows Movie Maker. It comes with every computer (with Windows). It's pretty simple. Just drag and drop into the program. There are tutorials online and on YouTube also.
