    ffr the game futur update

    i was wondering do you think ffr thegame can have or can be givin an update to where it says marvelous an still have perfect with it also so like you can AAAA song in 4A's
    instead of 3 an also u can still AAA songs too i was wondering about that if that can be a future update to the ffr the game

    First off write out all your words this isn't an Instant Messaging conversation. Second, this idea is kind of pointless, FFR was built the way it was on purpose doing this would be like syncing song ID's 175 and lower.

      What would the point be? A lot of people that play on here also play SM so if you want to AAAA something against someone then play SMO.

        Because of having only 30FPS to work with FFR gives you three frames for perfects: the "correct" frame and two buffer frames. Because the "correct" frame shifts in comparison to the music (except for a select few songs who line up perfectly because of their BPM), it would be impossible to always hit the "correct" frame. So if you made the "correct" frame marvelouses, no matter how good your timing was (compared to the music at least), you still would not be able to accurately MA.

          If you had the marvelous window as same frame or +/- one frame, however...

          EDIT: I'd have it be a purely bragging rights thing to get a marvelous instead of a perfect, though; same lifebar hit, same score, same rank.

            With only three Perfect frames, you'd either have to dedicate two of them to the Marvelous rating, or only one. With one Marvelous frame, it would be borderline impossible to AAAA.

              If the marvelous window was +/- one frame and assuming no lag, if you hit every arrow in a +/- 33 millisecond window you'd get full marvelouses.

              (If it was +/- two frames you have a +/- 66 ms window, similarly. Keep in mind that where the arrow's true position in the frame is varies...)

              The perfect window in stepmania is +/- 45 ms, the marvelous window +/- 22.5 ms (ridics would be +/- 11.25). So even a 0-1 frame marv window is looser than stepmania's marvelous window, though on the counterpoint harder to hit because of ffr's quantized nature interfering with visual reading.

              We could always separate the perfect window into three windows with an option...0-1 frames, 2 frames, 3 frames

                Just to simplify what everyone is saying, a Flash game can't correctly support a hit of that accuracy.

                          I thought this thread was going to be a mix of the weapons of the futur and an actual FFR update. Sadly, I am mistaken.

                          But Marvelous timing is what makes FFR different, and I'm pretty sure Tass and Synth have both mentioned wanting to keep FFR from becoming Stepmania.

                              Basically what dore was saying is accurate. FFR's framerate is much too low to add yet another timing window to it imo. If the framerate would ever increase (idk doubt it though) then there could be a possibility. Still I like FFR's current setup. Not to mention they would have to add a whole other levelrank bar for AAAA's.
