    Scores Replaced with Lower Ones

    Played Mario Minor and had my old high score replaced with a significantly worse one I just got.

    The score was replaced by the awful rank 5451 one, which was me booing out of the song within 20 arrows on the previous attempt. I beleive it occured from me clicking the "Try this level again" button too fast, which is why I didn't notice the rank 5451 on the previous attempt.

    The same thing happened recently while I was playing Into The Night, but I just shrugged it off. The only thing I remember doing both times it occured was clicking try again extremely fast.

      Interesting, I thought I was the only one. My CIA Rave score got replaced with one with a rank of about 26,000.

      I think you are right about the clicking "Try again" too fast, I was doing that too.

          hmm. i've only heard of 2-3 cases of this happening in the past, ever. and the cause of it (that we assumed) was a database/server hiccup. something where you play a level, it finishes, the server hiccups, and your score somehow overwrites your previous (and better) one. like i said, very rare.

          but now 2 instances. any idea if both of you were playing at the same time? aka, your scores were both replaced at approximately the same time on the same day?

              I had a case of that as well... on both final step and splash beats. one song after the other. I had autofail on, and I failed both when I got a good on each one... those scores got recorded. Luckily, they weren't all that difficult to redo.

                  Hahaha, that happened to me on Blue Army after I black-flagged it. It replaced my score with a boo-out, and then I AAA'd it later.

                  EDIT: Is this a glitch relating to how fast you click the "Try again" button, or is it actually DB hiccups?
                  EDIT2: I can semi-understand why you got your lower score, and it may have to do with moving a bit too fast for the DB to catch up...which is why you got the score of your previous one. Hm.

                      i don't have evidence unless i have the replay, but on wednesday at about 11(eastern)am, i played kanon-kanon and got 2goods. but now i'm back to the old score i had, 4goods.

                      yeah, ok. nevermind. i actually did get 4goods. my bad.

                          Well, I don't know when tangomango had his score replaced. I played Mario Minor at around 8:30 pacific last night, but I don't know the exact time.

                          However this is the second time this has happened to me within about two weeks, two different play sessions.

                          Edit: Actually just noticed it also happened on the song Momentary Life while I was playing yesterday, but I didn't notice at the time. Actually mildly upset about losing that score as it was my best non-AAA rank.

                          Again as I think back to playing that song I recall hitting try again very fast there as well.

                              It's happened to me alot. If FFR is down and won't record scores until later on, thus alot of scores get recorded at the same time and you lose your best score. It apparently happened to me on PLANETZ because I had the token for the longest time and I just last night got 8 0 0 3 on it and it said my best rank was 0. It's a weird glitch obviously.

                                  I really need to be able to pin down the cause to be able to tackle the bug... so we have 2 possible explanations:

                                  -server hiccups
                                  -hitting try again too quickly

                                  frankly, i've hit try again REALLY fast many times... and i'm sure tons of people have... and there are very very few reports of this bug. which makes me think that isn't the cause. and, Sprite has reported this bug to me twice, and both times it was right after/during a server hiccup. that's why i went with that analysis in the first place.

                                          I think I last played around 7:30-8:30 pm pacific time.

                                          I just booed out whenever I messed up, and quickly clicked try again. Then I stopped playing because my scores began to stop being recorded (don't know if this was a server problem or mine). I noticed that my highest rank went significantly lower than my previous one. I went to level ranks, and saw that my average rank went higher by about 40 points.

                                          I already redid the score though xD

                                                  It just happened to me too. I don't recall hitting 'play again' too quickly.

                                                  I had 4-0-0-0 or 4-0-0-1 on Dead and Direct, and it got replaced by some crappy fail-out.

                                                  edit: okay, I beat my old score, but it's probably server hiccups.

                                                      seems.... unlikely that we'd be having this many "hiccups" happening. since i'm not noticing the site dropping.

                                                      definitely will do everything we can do have this resolved tonight.

                                                          I'm getting the issue as well. My Vijore and Ruins scores got wiped - my average rank went up 23 as a result. Also, if it's of any further significance, I'm noticing the site is running quite slow at times.
