    About the Rock genre

I was just wondering why they didn't cut the rock songs like they did with most of the others, I think they are too long. Even if the song is extremely easy, it's annoying if you become distracted and get a good somewhere near the end and have to play 3 or 4 boring minutes again... I'm not saying I want them to be shorter now, since that would be unfair to the people that already AAA'd them.

And also, I don't want to question people's tastes or anything, but most of the "Rock" songs in the game are pretty repetitive (even the singers seem to have the same voice), and they are not that good. Of course, there are really good ones like Guitar vs Piano, Stay With Me (Unlikely), Southern Cross and some of the hardest too.

If you're calling Rock songs repetitive, you haven't listened enough to the majority of songs in Dance and stuff. That type of Techno/Trance/Drum n' bass/etc Is far more repetitive than most rock songs.

I don't really agree. Long songs don't have to be hard, they can also be easy. It's not proportional. There are some of the beginners that might want some Rock songs to their level. We need a variety of everything to attract the majority of people to the website, no matter how much those long songs are a pain in the ass. :P

No, I don't think Dance songs are more repetitive than the ones in the Rock genre. Actually, they vary a lot. And I didn't say that the rock itself is repetitive, only the ones in the game are repetitive.

I didn't say long songs have to be hard, I just think there are way too many long songs in the Rock genre.

Dance songs and Rock songs are repetitive. It'd be nice to have cuts for both, but rock genre artists generally want their full length songs on FFR.

                  Re: About the Rock genre

Also, a lot of the songs in the rock genre started their lives as widget songs for the website of the band in question. Clearly they will want the full-length song to be there, so that's what they got. Then the widget song eventually made its way into the game, and that's why there are long rock songs.

Plus, other than maybe cutting out the last iteration of the chorus, with radio-play style songs you basically have to pull whole verses or nothing, and pulling whole verses tends to wreck the point of the song, where as with dance/trance/techno etc, it is a lot easier to find good break points to remove.
