    ohi awesome idea for spambot filterW

    When registering an account you should be required to hit a series of notes in a flash plugin. Nothing too difficult, maybe one of each directional key, once per second for example, but if you can't do it successfully you can't register.

    It's thematic and would keep spambots from signing up (unless they became custommade for ffr lmao)

      This makes a lot of sense since this is a website based off of a rhythm game.

          I like this idea. I'll make tons of accounts just to play the register level But, it is a cool idea!

                          Why don't the admins ever give a response to our ideas? People throw perfectly good ideas out there, gain support, and a mod swings by and says "no" and leaves. Can we get an admin, or at least a reason?

                                  If you want, I can IM Tass specifically so he can come in here and say "No", or I can speak for him because this is obviously never going to work.

                                  Believe it or not, some people actually do register here for reasons other than the game, and forcing them to play a modified version of the game, no matter how simple it is, would potentially lead to turning away new users.

                                  Rule #1 of spambot protection is that it must never turn away new users.

                                      How would Tass feel if a porn spam bot got a lawsuit on FFR from an angry 13 year old's parent? Like I said, we want reasons why and admins, not just a "no." That doesn't matter who it comes from. I can IM Tass, too.

                                          this cant be to hard to implement when you click finish or something when your doen signing up you just go to like power or something a song almost no one can fail; or like 5 notes from power, aka like 1 minute of it lol. It wont turn anyone way to play like 20 secounds or so of a song on a rhythm based site...

                                              You know, Squeek and the rest of the staff members probably have a million other reasons as to why it won't work, and he shouldn't have to explain, clarify, or reiterate them to every response. Just understand that they're doing their best to reduce the flow of SpamBots and leave the subject alone.
