    World of Goo

So, has any of you bought it or had a shot at the demo yet?

Basically it's just a giant physics game, but with a new approach.
Lots of thinking outside of the box, trial and error, and optimising.
    And it's addictive too!

Each level, you have control over several balls of goo, and you an drag and drop them much like support points to create lines/pipe things in between them. This way you can build towers, climbing constructions, bridges, and many more strange and cool structures. All in order to overcome many odd or nasty problems to get as many goo as possible into the pipe at the end of each level.

To aid you, there are around 10 diffirent sords of goo, each with slightly diffirent properties, such as being flammable, sticky, or able to connect to larger amounts of other goo blobs.
Then for the perfectionists there are the OCD's (Obsessive Completion Distiction) awards, basically rewards you get when you play a level extremely good.

Lastly, there's also the World of Goo Corporation, any goo you save over the level quota will be stored here, it can quickly amount up to 200 or more balls. It's an endlessly large sandbox in which you can build a tower as high as you can and see how you rank against others.

I suppose I'll provide some links to give you a general idea of the game/demo dowload now then, so here you go:

    A basic gameplay movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGfhB16dRH4
    A demo dowload: http://files.filefront.com/WorldOfGo.../fileinfo.html
And the site of the creators: http://2dboy.com/

EDIT: If you are wondering how to minimise the game, play in windowed mode using alt+enter (sorry mac users, no help from me on this front).

I downloaded the demo and thought it was aweeeesome. I've been keeping up to date for the past few weeks watching the trailers and getting ready for the release. I can't see myself buying it but it's definitely pretty fun. It's pretty cool how the game got started, two guys quit EA I think it was to start making this game.

        If that's true, excellent call.

Better than making MADDEN/FIFA/alltheother****ingsportsgames 2009 or something.

Tried out the demo. Loving it.
Why would you put that in your signature? You've lost your signature rights for a month. (You'll get them back on March 10th, 2012.)

This game is way epic on the wii. My friend brought it over yesterday, it supports up to 4 players at once, and the puzzles never quite die. Just when you think "what could they add next", something totally unexpected happens..

          PS I love MOM.

            Re: World of Goo

I'm basically kind of done whoring the game, and decided to give the world of goo corp a serious shot, managed to get up to 31.1m. Probably top 50 of the world as the 332th place was from around 25-26m. The server isn't very fast in updating though
It's stable up to around 26 metres, built a giant pyramid/traingle, then took out lots of the middle section, built a platform on the top, and made another small tower on that.
