Please tell me this was a glitch...

(Been meaning to post this for a while)
I was playing someone really good in MP a while back ago, and he wanted to do Hyper Highspeed Star (I think that's what it's called) I was all "Alright but I'll probably have to mash it etc etc" He was fine it, the game started, I mashed the **** out of it, but I only missed about 30. i got about 900 boo's and assorted goods and perfects. he on the other hand, Missed about 70, but got only about 100 boo's, and the rest mostly perfects. I won because I had the higher combo.

I'm sure this has been complained about before, but It's just been nagging me. Are scores actually determined by combo, rather than score?

The higher the combo, the higher the score.

Yeah, FFR is really biased towards combo scoring.

Combo is worth a thousand points, so, if you had a 900 combo, you get 900,000 (900x1000) points added to your score. That's without your PA factored in.

If you get all perfects, and a 900 combo, it then becomes 900x1550.

So, in the grand scheme of things, the easiest way to beat someone in multiplayer is to have the better combo. Which, if you mash, isn't hard to accomplish.
