    Lord of the Rings Prequel?

Any news of The Hobbit being made a movie?

I don't see why not. With the previous success of the Lotr series, i'm pretty sure Jackson could make whatever he wanted. If he is indeed a Tolkien fan, I would think he would seize this opportunity. Of course, I'm sure he's been pretty much exhausted from the trilogy.

The hobbit is being made, but peter jackson is not directing it (he's doing King Kong rendition).

Well, not necessarily. Peter Jackson's first film was a cheesy ass horror. Poorly acclaimed. Blah blah blah.

And there other prenty damn good directors. Anyone who can recognize emotion in acting, and knows how to script an epic battle scene will do fine. Probably.

Don't worry. It couldnt be THAT bad.

I heard Jackson wasn't going to touch the Hobbit.

dude the Hobbit would make the best film ever if Jackson was doing it
The best way to solve the problem is a 1950\'s Grease-esque hot-rod death race/musical. Not only will the Aussie Chicks be all sexing you up, but you will totally be idolized by every homosexual man in america.-Jewpin The Third

Apparently, Jackson is planning to do it.

"NEW YORK (AP) - Peter Jackson won't be returning to the Shire any time soon. The Oscar-winning director is planning to film "The Hobbit," the prequel to "The Lord of the Rings," trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien, but two studios must first fight over legal rights to the film."

Hey guys the Star Wars bull crap isn't quite how you're describing it. While I'm willing to admit that Episode I probably wasn't the first written, Lucas did have a basic plan for the story arc of the series and well... that's good enough for me. The only reason episode I is a prequal, in my opinion, is because it was made after IV, V, and VI. Hey look, I know roman numerals.
