    WM Beatbox for FFR

Hey guys. Heres a link to my Beatbox that I made for FFR. (I have no idea how to "submit" it to FFR so it can be stepped and put into the game. Please tell me how.)

I made this, as users like Nickadeemus, ipatch and other users who have listened to me Beatbox on the Vidchat suggested it to me. I'd be awsome if synthlight would check this out, Nickadeemus thinks synth would like it .

DISCLAIMER: This whole song, is made using my MOUTH and THROAT. There is NO layering, or effects added on through the computer. I did NOT rehearse this song. I dont rehearse songs. This is all top of mind. Just remember, there are parts where I am making more than 2 sounds at once. Thats all REAL. No layering or anything of that sort involved. I have NOT edited this or anything using a computer. If theres any distortion thats because of my mic and amp. I never edit my songs. This is a simple beatbox that I think could easily be stepped. And yes, I can go WAY faster than this.

Discover "FFR Beatbox", a Drum n Bass track by WMBeatbox. A standout release ready for your next project. Available now on SoundClick.

I hope you guys like it.
I'm sick, but I gave it a pretty good shot. No excuses. I actually like how I ended it. Funny thing is, my batteries died the moment this thing finished. I got lucky, and the song ends amazingly.

One problem with this, the tempo is close to a static BPM, but it changes just an oh so little bit. Its gonna be hard to syn this.

Yea, I noticed that. Its hard to keep exact BPM when beatboxing and such. I do give permission to somebody to fix the BPM in this, if they can.

Thanks. Im usually better with fast DnB, like secret zombie room. Although, I wanted to do something nice and easy. Partly due to Im sick, and partly due to me wanting to have a slow song for once. hahaha. Thank you though.

Honestly I don't think this would be a very good song to go on ffr. It's not a bad job by any means, but the file would be rather boring, and it's pretty slow and long.

Not to mention keeping ttis file synced would be really tough.

Although, if you are better at faster stuff, i suggest uploading some faster stuff for us to check out.

That, or try using a metronome with headphones when you record, so that you can try to keep a steady tempo.

I could try that. I just thought that maybe you guys would like something slow. A lot of people are like, "Thats too fast! I cant do *INSERT* to that!". :P. I'll wait for some more replies. I think I did pretty good.

Mind you, I need to find AA batteries, before I can record again. Unless I use my PC mic, which does a sutible job but I dont fancy it.

EDIT: If you guys get on Vidchat right now, I could rip a fast beatbox for you and you guys can tell me what sounds better.

Bump. Does anyone know how I could hook up a dynamic mic to my PC and be able to record through it? I'm buying a new mic. I once bought some adapter to do this method of recording but it never seemed to work. Could have been my mic at the time.

Metronome. It's entirely possible to maintain a relatively constant BPM doing this, just as it is in live instruments or singing.

Incidentally, I didn't like this one bit. Quality was terrible, and even the "music" of it just wasn't very good. To be frank, there is a reason why a person playing a rhythm instrument like, say, a drum set, isn't generally also responsible for melody. It simply is something outside the range of the average person, even those who are musically inclined. If anything, I would say what you do would be better to focus on the rhythm element and overlay something else in, like someone else rapping or maybe some sort of light melodic instrument.

Something else: what's with the purism for not layering? It can show off skill to do that (I myself don't think I could ever keep a beat and use humming or throat sounds like these beatbox folks), but it's not necessarily conducive to the listening element of it. If the goal is something which is more listenable, a little bit of layering/processing can help things a lot.

Even so, first step I would suggest is working out some other way of recording the audio, because again, that quality is terrible.

Yea, I know. Sorry about the quality. I'm working on something to fix that. Uhm, do you know some good CHEAP mixers? :P

I kinda like it. Not fast enough. Try again when you are not sick. I would love to hear a perfected version of this where it is faster, keeps a fairly steady beat, and feels smoother.
