Metrics.ini glitch. I can't change my CMods!!

    Metrics.ini glitch. I can't change my CMods!!

    Well basically I think this is a vista problem because I just switched to it, and it also happened to my friend. I go to my metrics, edit the mods, and click save. An error comes up saying:

    Cannot create the C:\Program Files\StepMania\Themes\default\metrics.ini file.

    Make sure that the path and file name are correct.

    And then it doesn't save. Anyone know what to do?

      ya, i think its vista itself. It wont let me change/save anything I edit. So I just tranfer it over to a Windows XP computer to save it. This really sucks though.

          I've heard about this another time as well. I don't know of any way to fix it =/ I guess you could always get a new theme that has plenty of Cmods pre-loaded into it.

              Cut and paste the .ini file somewhere else besides the Stepmania or program files folder (e.g. My Documents). From there, you can make any changes you want. Then place the .ini file back into the original location and you're set.

                  Get XP.

                          There's nothing wrong with vista but flash.
                          There's an admin option where you aren't allowed to edit certain things in program files, you can turn that option off somewhere so you can just edit that file. (I forget where the option to turn it on/off is, I did it over a year ago)

                          You can also edit it without turning the option off, just do what gundam said.

                          Edit: Control Panel > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control On or Off
                          You'll have to restart your computer after you set it to off.

                              My friend had this problem on a vista laptop, all I did was copy the finished changes of the .ini, and pasted to a blank text document--then went to the directory of the old .ini and deleted it. Then I saved the new file as .ini, rather than overwriting. This should work, but I'm not sure.

                                  This happened to me too when I got Vista.

                                  I just put the metrics on a flash drive and changed them on my XP laptop.
