How to get and fix up Frets on Fire (a damn lot)

Ok. Most people here know about frets on fire. A guitar hero simulator thing. Does it suck balls? YES. Can you make it freaking awesome? YES.

OUTCOME OF ALL OF THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFULASTB3lA Not me btw.

Before you read any further, you must have either

    1). A 360 guitar hero guitar.
2). A rockband guitar (I am not sure, so can you use this guide with a RB guitar and tell me :X)
3). A any guitar hero guitar for any system that you can hook up to the computer with a *system here* to USB cord.
4). Or be willing to play with your keyboard.

Step 1 - Let's get the COOL Frets on Fire.

How is this Frets on Fire different? It has a Rockband theme, Guitar Hero 3 theme, a GH2 theme, an 8bit theme, and one more I forgot lol. Everyone of these themes work amazingly, but I either recomend using the theme for the game you own, or Rockband. They aren't just themes but also give extra features. Star power, solos in songs, and co-op are available with this build. None of that is in the normal FoF.

Step 2 - Quick strumming is phail.

Skip this step of you are using a keyboard.

For those of you who don't know what quick strumming is, it's strumming up and down quickly. Frets on Fire has a glitch where when you quick strum it registers like half the picks you do. This can be fixed, but the way I'm about to show you works for 360 guitars and only. For other guitars such as PS2, google a key mapping program for it.

Go here to download a 360 keymapping program: xpadder.com

Open the program, strum your guitar up and down. The top and bottom block should flash. Map these boxes to any keys on the keyboard by clicking on the box then a picture of a keyboard will come up, click 2 random keys. You're done now, whenever you go to play Frets on Fire, open the program and the problem won't occur.

Step 3 - I need some songs now.

    www.fretsonfire.net

Register and go to the tune posting section. TONS OF SONGS. You can download packs, albums, search any songs.

You can download every single song from Rockband, GH 1, 2, or 3.

I also recomend searching thread by username and put puppetz_86. He has made around 200 songs of high quality with PERFECT fretting with his FLStudio method.

Now you're done! This all seems like a bit much but when you're done, it's worth it. K have fun.

Oh by the way, forgot to mention, this program can be used for rockband drums. Do some research on fretsonfire.net.

Have you tried lowering the frame rate in the visual options?
