    GIMP - Things I've made with it. (And info on GIMP)

    GIMP - What is GIMP?

    GIMP is a free GNU Image Manipulation Program... or a photo editing and making software. Like PhotoShop but far simpler and in my opinon better. It is 100% free, no need to register, or give any information away. Nothing.

    The overall presentation and look of the GIMP interface is far more superior compared to PhotoShop in my opinion.

    What I've made with it.
    BE AWARE I STILL SUCK WITH IT AND WHAT I'VE MADE IS SILL THE BASICS



    Newer work of mine. No brushes or anything. Straight up take a picture of a bird and path the outside then bucket black then add white as lighting then make it glow .



    Brand new, my signature. My was on the 'blueside' *hint hint* for a reason.



    First thing I ever made with GIMP. ew



    Messy and old.



    Well I kinda liked it but no one else did.



    For the FFR skins thread.



    Pretty good for my 2nd creation.



    Simple but cool IMO.



    Very old, but it got me 50k



    Sites with GIMP tutorials.

      i used to have gimp now i only use it for rendering and rotating colors.
      EDIT: this is one of my "best of things and worst of things"

          That ffr theme looks pretty sweet. Some of those sigs are really nice as well

              I just recently got GIMP, but I'm having troubles on it. Could you explain how you did your blueside/ffr theme? Any tutorials or helpful sites would be great too. (sorry if I sound like i'm nagging =P)

                  Removed a .gif image so your total signature size isn't well over 1MB. Keep this in mind for the future.

                      It's all very basic, as you said. Most of it seems to consist mainly of brushing. The blue side seems to be the best one; it has good use of color. I don't know how you got away with 50k for that banner, though. xD

                      Overall I'd say this is exceptional for a GIMP user. Most of the people I've seen who use solely gimp do much worse.

                          Thanks ok I'll show you my steps.

                          1. Slap some blue red and purple brushes on a black background.
                          2. Add a gradient on top with red blue in purple in the same order.
                          3. Put the gradient's opacity low.
                          4. Add a black 1 pixel border.
                          5. Make a box and border on a different layer put the layer on overlay.
                          6. DONE. Not going into text sry.

                          I'm aware of the brush thing. This is why I say I'm not really amazing or close to it yet.

                                  I only own abstract brushes. I used to own so many that i just deleted it all because it was too hard to find what I want. Get brushes at www.deviantart.com
