    2-Handed Gameplay Help?

Yeah, I need some tips on playing with two hands.

I'm originally a one hand player (which I'm pretty good at) and trying to add two hands (which I'm about as good as one hand) to my repertoire. Any help?

practice. also, play with 2 hands. the trick to playing with 2 hands is to use 2 hands. otherwise, it doesn't work as well... it becomes about as effective as 1 hand play.

beyond that, work on "spread", something like ASKL for your keys, with left middle on A, left index on S, right index on K, right middle on L.

but, yea.... practice, practice, practice. you'll find that you're a lot better with 2 hands than 1 in no time.

I attempt photoshop. (This is for DF JK, same can be applied for Tass's AS KL)
I prefer DF JK because I can find my index fingers on the little ticks on the keyboard better)

EDIT: OH YEAH DATS RIGHT TIPS!:

On many songs, you'll find alternating arrows on one hand. This is one of the biggest reasons why hardcore indexers and one handers are reluctant to play spread.

Although Indexing is another option for 2 hands, I strongly recomend trying Spread, and then see how you feel about using only your index fingers.

Playing Spread (the method in the picture) allows you to have the advantage of having one finger dedicated for each arrow. Since you are just starting two hands, I recommend you try some of the songs close to the bottom in Dance 1. Good luck!

HOW DID YOU KNOW MY NAME?!?
          Erm..anywho.
I use S F J L, respectively, and..you just need to practice, and you can become even better than using one hand. Because after a while of using two hands, it will become more versatile and stuff. You just need practice..that's about all I can tell you. =_=

Thanks, guys. The "spread" is interesting, although I think I can do it like this too:

Yeah when I first started spread I used Left Down 8 6, now I use ASKL, but it's all the same.

                    have fun.

except on your right hand, I don't know if you really meant to make it nonindex finger.

Yeah, I use my right ring finger to my surprise. It's a bit more stable.

                        Re: 2-Handed Gameplay Help?

When I started playing two-hand, I remained using the arrow keys, left index on left, right index on down, right middle on up, and right ring on right, but my hands were too close together, making jumpstream and regular stream more difficult, so I switched left to f and got significantly better results. The only real downfall I can find with this setup is that up-right trills are ridiculously more difficult than any other trill. This also applies to the first setup. Also, It makes switching back to one-hand more difficult after longer practice of this technique, but I find one-hand to be ineffective with everything except jumpstream, and that's still easier on two-hand than on one-hand for me. And I'm pretty sure that switching back after long periods of practice applies to all play styles.

Was that first sentence a run-on? XD

Yeah, I started out with arrows keys too, but after they included hotkeys in a update, I tried (just for fun) some other keys, and after that I was unable to play the arrow keys what-so-ever. o.o The problem was that my hands (and specifically my right index and middle finger) were too close together.

Lol, no lie I tried like 50 combinations before I figured out that I really like Z and X for left hand, . and / for right. xD I guess what I'm trying to say is to play better two-handed (maybe, maybe not) try spreading your fingers apart, but not too much.
