I'm sure threads like these have been made before, but I think it's a good topic to discuss.
I'm not necessarially looking for inspiration -- rather, I'm just curious as to where people draw their inspiration for writing music.
Personally I get a lot of mine from listening to music similar to my own style, but obviously done in a more professional manner... it gives me ideas that I can actually use in my own music, but I never actually copy concepts directly from other people's music. Gaia Frequency by Skyform is probably one of the most inspiring songs I've ever heard, personally.
Also, for some reason I can always make great music when I go to Chicago. The city's atmosphere is completely opposite from the rural community I live in, and it always inspires me creatively.
