    Sigur Ros 5th Album

(Don't know if I can post the album cover seeing as how it has nudity).

"Meš Suš ķ Eyrum Viš Spilum Endalaust" which roughly translates as "with a buzz in our ears we play endlessly" is the 5th album by Sigur Ros.

The first track, Gobbledigook, is free to download. The rest of the album can be found free to stream. Last.fm is your best bet to listen to the entire album for free.

Comes out worldwide on 23rd June (Monday), except for North America who get it on 24th June.

I've heard it now and have to say it continues along the same lines as Takk did, they don't really do as much depressing stuff now and it's more upbeat and happy. Gobbledigook gives a really good start to the album. The last song is even in English (though you'll still not be able to understand a single word sung).

Anyone have any comments / discussion on this?

      Re: Sigur Ros 5th Album

I think Sigur Ros has grown and broadened their horizons. I couldn't be more satisfied with their new album; it's different, new, incredibly optimistic and fun, and it's still Sigur Ros. Considering most people listen to Sigur Ros because of how different and relaxing their sound is, and how similar all their past albums are in terms of style and composition (sure, Takk is vastly more upbeat than ( ), Agaetis Byrjun and Von but their still pretty similar), most people will feel extremely out of place and question if they're even listening to Sigur Ros. It's just very different and really folky at times.

If anything, I feel the new album just shows how the band decided to set themselves loose, try something new, and make it their own. I liked the change and it's as good or better than Takk and ( ).

It's as if they were chained to their old sound and they decided to set themselves free.

The album will be free for download the week of the 23rd from their website.
