    Marvel Movies

As Marvel Studios became independent in 2005, and set out to create their own movies in distribution with Paramount Pictures, Ive come to realize how well they are doing.

Iron Man was an amazing movie in my opinion and it was very well made.
The Incredible Hulk is set out to be awesome too, hoping for a comeback after the movie The Hulk which wasnt very well made.

I just want all your opinions on the new movies and how you think they are/will be.

    Movies to come are:
    Iron Man 2
    Thor
    The First Avenger: Captain America
    The Avengers
    Ant-Man

      Re: Marvel Movies

Don't bump after half an hour.

I'm not exactly excited for Thor or Ant Man. Those two heroes never really got my attention. The Avengers and Captain America should be decent though. I think the movies Marvel makes heavily depend on the opposition that the heroes face more so than how they come to get their powers. I don't care so much that Iron Man became Iron Man, but that he fought Iron Monger. Er goes for the Fantastic Four fighting Doctor Doom in the first movie, the second movie was crap. Whose the Hulk fighting in the upcoming movie? The Abomination? I'm not too sure. I don't think that weasily, pencil-neck Edward Norton will do Bruce Banner justice though.

You do understand the function of the whole transformation, right?

I haven't heard they were actually making a Thor movie, and I honestly am not familiar with Ant-man (although moderate research indicates his presence would be more appropriate to limit to the Avengers film). And Thor is a ****ing god; that cannot possibly make a good movie. Thor could be a supporting character in a good movie, but a god cannot be the main character in a good yarn.

You also failed to mention the X-men films coming up, the Wolverine one in particular, since that will have Deadpool and Gambit. That will be amazing. Then there's Spider-man... I'm pretty sure they're gonna make a fourth one. They might even do a Venom spin-off existing in its own original continuity.

Oh and by the way, what the **** does everyone have against the Hulk film from a few years back? I saw it once, and I liked the unique artistic direction they took, and I fail to see how anyone could have any issues with any other part of the film.

ps is anyone else hoping they remake howard the duck because that would be mighty fantastic

        EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._Marvel_Comics

Apparently there is a Punisher sequel coming. I was not aware of this.

EDIT again: oh ****. Read that list right now:

Ant-Man TBA Marvel Studios In development
Black Panther TBA Paramount Pictures In development
Daredevil 2 TBA 20th Century Fox / Marvel Studios Announced
Deathlok TBA Paramount Pictures / Crystal Sky Pictures In development
Doctor Strange TBA Marvel Studios In development
Ghost Rider 2 TBA Columbia Pictures / Marvel Studios In development
The Hands of Shang-Chi TBA DreamWorks SKG / Marvel Enterprises In development
Luke Cage TBA Marvel Studios In development
Magneto TBA 20th Century Fox / Marvel Studios In development
Nick Fury TBA Marvel Studios In development
Runaways TBA Marvel Studios In development
Namor: The Sub-Mariner TBA Marvel Studios In development
Silver Surfer TBA 20th Century Fox / Marvel Studios In development
Venom TBA Marvel Studios In development
Some of those look pretty ****ty, others are a bit of a surprise and should kick major ass. Notice: there IS a Venom spin-off in production.

EDIT: apparently the punisher film is not a sequel and is not related, seems to be something like what happened with Hulk. That's fine too.

          lol Ghost Rider 2.

LOOK HE'S INDESTRUCTIBLE MORE ISN'T THAT COOL NICHOLAS CAGE IS SUCH A GREAT ACTOR!!1

I really loved that comic when I was a kid... Oh well.

Really looking forward to Nick Fury because I can't help it.

They're not going to succeed in making a good movie about Venom.

I wish someone would get a clue and make a rated R, CG, comic based movie.

I dunno, I kinda like Mr. Cage for some reason.

That said, I don't think Ghost Rider is really worthy of further development. Similar reasoning as to why Thor can't be a good movie, although to a much lesser degree.

Really looking forward to Nick Fury because I can't help it.
I don't like the idea of the film being named Nick Fury, doesn't that make the rest of SHIELD seem less important?

They're not going to succeed in making a good movie about Venom.
I disagree. If they can include Spider-man, do it in a way which makes Spider-man villified, and probably throw in a R rated Carnage as the primary villain, that would be amazing. This would also give them a chance to not **** up the symbiote costume, as well as making Eddie Brock actually be a bulky fellow.

Actually now that I think about it a bit, having Spider-man as a primary character would probably just make things more convoluted and ****ty (think: Spider-man being the hero would require him to be the one to prevail over Carnage). They should probably drop Spider-man's overt connection from the origin story, and maybe just include Peter Parker as a supporting player.

I wish someone would get a clue and make a rated R, CG, comic based movie.
It's not warranted in most cases. Few cases where it would be, I assume they'll do it right. Punisher, for instance, or if they bring Carnage into the mix (either in the Venom spin-off or in Spider-man 4), hopefully they don't **** that up. I wanna see giant ass axe hands and brutal murders.

              Re: Marvel Movies

IMO the 'if' depends on them making more money on a movie which an R rating would take away.

It's not that I think they couldn't do it. It's that I think they won't.

I'm just tired of being continuously disappointed.

I would really really love a movie from the villain's perspective if they did it right.

I actually just learned today that the "Wanted" film coming out is actually based on a comic with that very idea in mind. However, the hero/villain element was not used in the film adaptation sadly.

                  Re: Marvel Movies

I'm really hoping they go for it with Avengers, there's so much potential. I hated the X-men movies because: a) no Gambit! b) they were seriously dumbed down for general audiences. Iron Man is the first genuine attempt anyones made to keep comic fans happy.

And why is Sam Jackson Fury? In the comics was Nick Fury ever black at some point like the Punisher was? I don't think so, and neither was Kingpin (Affleck + Daredevil= fail)

I was just on the list of films in relevance with Paramount Pictures. As these are turning out be be top line.

Yes, they are making Spider-Man 4 but Spider-Man 3 was not even TOO good. I mean it was such a predictable movie.

Iron Man is going to be a trilogy.

I'm not sure with any other movies.

@blu: I think the new movies coming out are going to be great. The Dark Knight looks REALLY good.

I agree, I can't wait for it to come out.

I hope the new Hulk is good, I really like Edward Norton. Never saw the first one, may have to Netflix it.

Spider-Man 3 was so horrible. Funny your choice of words though... A review I heard said that "the only fault this movie has is that it's too good" or something to that effect.

I like Iron Man but felt it could have had more action.

Oh and reading the wiki on Nick Fury will tell you why Samuel Jackson is playing him.

Wanted looks like it could be good.

Iron Man was good because it gave insight on the design and how he actually became "Iron Man". There was enough action for that because it was just leading the the climax. It should be non-sop action in number 2. Too bad it comes out like July of 2010.

I walked out of Spiderman 3. I thought it was a horrible movie. Toby Maguire doesn't do Peter Parker any justice. I haven't even seen Spiderman 2.

Ultimate Nick Fury is black, and actually modeled after Sam Jackson, thus he's the perfect actor in terms of resemblance.

X-Men failed because of the lack of Apocalypse and because they brutalized the Phoenix Saga.

The only reason I liked the second movie is because there was a Photonics book in it that I own.

                            I feel special.
