How do I trim a song?

I've got a V-snares song I'd like to trim. Does anyone have a good program I can use to trim down a song?

If this is in the wrong part of the forums, sorry. I didn't really know the most suitable place to make this thread.

Audacity is the best free audio editor. Use that to cut it.

Going along with DbX, Audacity is really good. Here's the link. Make sure you also get lame mp3 encoder, otherwise when you cut it, you won't be able to do anything with the song (it exports the project as an mp3). When you use audacity, import the song you want to use, and highlight the areas you want to cut off. Try to make it as precise as you can, though.

Download audacity 1.2.6 or 1.3.5? And where is the Mp3 encoder?

EDIT: Don't worry. Thanks for your help.

ask'd and answer'd... although i was going to tell you Audacity too.

i'd also recommend cutting into a fadeout. it sounds better, unless there is a clear pause in the music (which is quite possible with vsnares).
