Well, I played FFR with my feet...

Yup, I played FFR with my feet just to see whether I could. I used my normal Stepmania setup of a BuyNShop DX pad connected with a parallel port adapter, plus a cool program called Joytokey that converts joypad input to keyboard input. Also, I went into the keyboard options and set the repeat delay to as long as possible and the repeat rate as low as possible, to prevent massive booing due to just standing on the arrows.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be; however, I wouldn't recommend it. I was able to do okay on several songs, but I was hindered by the number of boos I got. I'm way too used to being able to step offbeat in DDR. It was pretty hard - (((((( was equivalent to 8 or perhaps 9 feet.

So, in case anyone was wondering whether this would work out, the answer is yes, but don't expect too much.

      As did I.

Playing Stepmania is much more fun with fingers.

You really thought you'd be able to play with the current FFR miss system?

Meh. Obviously its impossible. you would need to be an olympic champion hopper (that is, equivalent of... Im fairly sure that category doesnt exist :P) to avoid the boos and misses from staying on a key too long.

MEGAginge, boos from standing on keys too long were not a problem because I had the foresight to change the repeat delay and repeat rate settings beforehand.

To find Joytokey, just do a google search for it. It'll be one of the first links that comes up.

I dont see why you wouldnt rather just play Stepmania though. Thats actually designed to take a pad.

ALSO: Trued Uber rave, Hellbeat... anything like that? Wouldnt surprise me if you actually set the repeat TOO LOW to register the fast key presses
