Seems that when I play 20+ games a day it only shows like 7-10 of my replays is this happening to anyone else?
Replays not always recording?

Re: Replays not always recording?
That's because it only keeps the last 10 or so games you have played. If you subscribe, it saves more replays.

Re: Replays not always recording?
yup. for nonsubscribers... i think it only shows the last 10. then it wipes them. if you want to keep some, you have to click save. you should be able to save 5. subscribers get to see their last 100.RIPComment

Re: Replays not always recording?
Will it be like that until replays are fixed or no?Removed a .gif image so your total signature size isn't well over 1MB. Keep this in mind for the future.
5th Official FFR Tournament Scores (Division 5)Round 1: Novo Mundo (AAA)Round 2: 4 Chord Touhou (AAA)Round 3: October (1.0.0.1)Round 4: Silly Symphony (1.0.0.0)Round 5: Hardkore Atomic (4.0.0.1)Round 6: Blue Rose (2.0.0.0)Round 7: La Dump (Eliminated for being lazy.)
Originally posted by smartdude1212EA will wander into his house with twenty minutes remaining in the round, load up FFR, realize he needs to ****, go to do so, discover he's hungry, whip up a gourmet meal, return to FFR with five minutes to go, play la camp once, and missflag on the 2154th arrow because scythe of 13 is watching him

Re: Replays not always recording?
will be like that even after they are fixed. replays were taking up WAY too much space on the server, causing huge db lag, etc etc. massive massive massive amounts of data was being stored.RIPComment

Re: Replays not always recording?
Hahaha, yeah, me and reptile3141 had about 35,000 playbacks combined before they were wiped. It's for the better that they aren't allowed to hog up space like that.
Though, it would be nice if the non-subbies could get more than just 5 saved replays. That's not very much. :/Last edited by foilman8805; 04-26-2008, 01:10 PM.Comment

Re: Replays not always recording?
I still think if it could be done, the best way would be to give a total replay number to subbies/non-subbies, and the ability to save anywhere from 0-X of them where X is how many they get.
As I understand it now, it's like "You can see your last 10, and also you can save 5" which I guess means that you could have 5 saved, and another 10 displayed for a total of 15?
What I think would be better is "You can have 15" And if you don't save any, you get your 15 most recent, if you save 1 you get also your 14 most recent, and if you save 14, you get only your 1 most recent.
It still keeps the total replays stored as a smallish number, but allows you to go right to the max that will display anyway with saved ones. If I'm going to get to see 15 replays, why shouldn't I be able to have all 15 be saved ones I really like?Comment

Re: Replays not always recording?
I'm actually not 100% sure how it works. Jason and his thinktank did some crazy voodoo on it a few weeks ago. But regardless, it needs to be addressed. We went from the extreme of not deleting any replays to now deleting almost everything.
I feel there should be middle ground on it, just hasn't been discussed yet. We'll get there. Something that can make everyone happy... and the servers too.RIPComment

Re: Replays not always recording?
Something else to note...
It's not recording perfectly.
Take a look at my run on Strangeprogram. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...play/18068187/
For me, it is breaking way more then 15 times, which is what I originally only broke. It doesn't even go up to my maximum combo. Any idea?Comment

Re: Replays not always recording?
yes... that's been well known. replays are their own system and still have the avmiss fix. we're working on getting that fixed.RIPComment

Re: Replays not always recording?
One thing I haven't taken the time to test out that I'm sure someone who has played a lot more can clear up for me: what is the actual behavior of replays as you fill them up now?
I can think of three ways for it to work. The question isn't even which one is how it works, the question is which one -ought- to be how it works.
1/ You can have a max of 10 replays. Once you have 10 replays, the next song you play records as a replay, deleting the oldest one you had.
2/ You can have a max of 10 replays. Once you have 10 replays, the next song you play continually paves over your newest replay
3/ You can have a max of 10 replays. Once you have 10 replays, the next song you play wipes all 10 replays and is saved as replay 1
Of these, I think that 1/ is the best way for it to work. Each new play you make just bumps the oldest replay you haven't marked as "save" into deletion and just continually stacks onto the top, but it sounds from some reports like 3/ is more like what is actually going on.Comment
