I'll probably end up trying it just because I am desperate for an MMO since I lost my WoW until I get another graphics card, but I can pretty much tell this is gonna be a MS copy, so I'm gonna hate it.Originally posted by Jerry DB

MapleStory was the first of it's kind, 2D platforming meshed into a MMORPG.
About as unique of a gameplay design as is possible in these days.
That's not to say that I don't think the game is particularly good (and this is coming from someone who wastes hours on it daily), but it's uniqueness is enough to make it worthwhile, and it's addictiveness will keep you going with it.
That said, this doesn't look so bad, but odds are that if someone wants a 2d platforming MMORPG, they'll go to Maple anyway even if this other game is better.

BTW. WoW fails horribly(Or...does it fail amazingly?) Don't ever go back to it.
Rappelz, Well, I dunno. It was good, I'll give it that. But i'm a solo person.
Like FFXI, I loved that game...Till I couldn't grind, and I "HAD" to get a party. Which pisses me off, because it literally takes anywhere from 5minutes to an hour to get a party going, and most of the time for only like...an hour or two.
It's just irritating to have to rely on other people to further the enjoyment of your game. But hey. I shouldn't be complaining if I'm playing an mmo.Comment

Some of the screenshot looks like it was ripped straight from Maplestory. Eh, I guess there are only so many ways you can do 2D rockfaces and only so many styles of minimaps that would work....So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.
Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =OComment

MapleStory get's extremely boring for many , many users. Trust me.
After being on MapleStory for 3 years (Korean/Global), I'd say grinding your Bowmaster at 132 = not fun.
Even 70 = not really fun.
And Rappelz, man, I think I played about 6-8 hours a day over summer..
Rappelz is, wow, really addicting. I love the graphics, intense gameplay, friendly community, lots of things to do (quests aren't boring.) Party raids, GM events (very frequent), World Cooperative boss fights, ecetera.
Guild Dungeons, Guild Boss Runs, Guild ____ << input a fun aspect of gameplay.
I recommend Rappelz.Comment
