    Haruki Murakami

    I would advise anyone who's anyone to read one of his books.

    'the wind up bird chronicles'

    or

    'kafka on the shore'

    (anyone familiar with his stuff?)

    anything of Murakami's is a good read.

    'dance, dance, dance' and 'norwegian wood' are my favorites.

      Those are two i haven't read as of yet.

      so far I've got 'Kafka on the shore'; his short stories, 'the elephant vanishes';

      and now I'm reading 'he wind up bird chronicles'.

      I've been wanting to reading 'Norwegian wood' and 'sputnik sweetheart'.

        I've read 'the elephant vanishes' also, I thought they became a little repetitive after a while. When I get some free time, 'the wind up bird chronicles' will be next.

          The short stories were alright - i really enjoyed a couple of them, namely the 'bakery robbery' (dont think thats the title) and (100% perfect girl on a..yadda yadda - ha). However, i really never got the great feeling i got from reading one of his novels. 'the windup bird chronicles' is really good so far, I'm about half way through. Its starts of pretty slow, but give you these fleeting questions that you have to press on to find out ( as usual ) but..slower.
