    Adobe Photoshop 5.0

I was looking for my MP3 player charger today. I had, at the back of my mind, also a need to look for a graphics program. I didnt find the charger, but I did find Photoshop 5.0. I'm looking at the Adobe website and I just can't seem to find this version (besides Photoshop Elements, but I don't think that is it). It's a limited edition version. I'm gonna install this and see what it's like.

Anyone else use this version (mine is probably really outdated)?

You can always use gimp or paint.net. They are both free.

Wow, I need a new graphics program.

What is a good graphics program?
I want one that you buy, and is quality. I might try paint.net. I'm probably going to use it in my leisure time.

Photoshop cs3 is probably the best none 3d software out there today for graphics. If you want to buy it, go ahead lol. You can always torrent it for free btw.

Could you tell me a bit more about paint.net?

I also want to hear from those who have Corel Painter.

There you go! Tell me more about GIMP. Is it easy to learn?

I don't have experience with GIMP, but I've seen digital artists that use only GIMP and they're amazing. Go to http://www.gimp.org/ to download it. I understand that there are plug-ins and add-ons to increase the functionality of the program.

P.S.: About the learning curve - I'm not sure. Some say Photoshop is hard to learn at first, and I would have to agree. GIMP may be easier.

i think paint.net would be the easiest

Paint.NET is free image and photo editing software for computers that run Windows.

loads of plugins that let you do alot more

                              Re: Adobe Photoshop 5.0

There are a lot more tutorials out there on using photoshop than Gimp though. In fact, when I was at a borders store, there was only one book sold there on how to use gimp and it was called like Beginning Gimp, but with Photoshop and the many versions of it, there's a whole shelf full, top to bottom, of them.

A long time ago I used to use a program that's called paint shop pro, and it was like version 4 I believe, and that was really good at the time and better than paint.net in my opinion because there was so much more you can do with it. The first thing I've used that has even been able to compare was the Gimp. The newest one is probably really good, but I'm not sure. Photoshop CS3 is the best though, but maybe Paint Shop Pro is a cheaper alternative.
