    how do i make a simfile thingy to play?!

    i want to figure out how to make one of those simfile video playable things because im new here sort of.


    well for the simfile db category at the top of the page if u click on it it go's to a page with custom made songs on here made by other ppl. also it says "upload" so i go to it but then it says that u can only upload things u have created. there is that more specific?

          So you want to make your own steps (Arrows) to a song?

          You can make them in StepMania or in Notepad. 99% of people use StepMania.

                  Follow These instructions up until the point where it asks you to send to file to Tass's e-mail adress. Instead of that, take the folder of the song, and make it a .rar file (use winrar). If you don't have WinRar, then you can download it here, if I'm not mistaken. After that, you can upload it to the Simfile database.

                  And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can directly upload the folder, no? That would be much easier than the whole .rar part, but I've never had to upload anything myself.

                  EDIT:: For the stepmania editor, download stepmania if you haven't already (follow spinal's link), and when the game starts up, there should be an option saying "Stepmania editor" or something along those lines. Follow the instruction in the first link I posted, and you should be able to make a simfile just fine. Banner and background image are optional.

                                          i also have a question: If you cannot find the song you are looking for anywhere, can you get the song of another simfile and use it in yours? kthnx

                                              If u mean take the song from someone else's simfile then use it in your own simfile then yes but the steps have to be 100% yours same with background, banner and cdtitle
