I started an electronicore band with my friends, and my friends uncle gets 80% discounts at this music store. If they have a microkorg there, should I buy one?

Re: is a microkorg a good investment?
I owned a microkorg for a while but sold it. I cant find the sense in hard synths when all you need a is a keyboard and a computer. I guess hardware can be fun to play with, but dealing with hardware is more cumbersome than it is worth IMO. As for using it for gigs I don't find it practical. The keys are too small and flimsy to play properly. The vocoder it comes with is nothing special, and the mic is trash.
If you are looking for a minisynth with vocoder I would go with the Alesis Micron not the Korg.Comment

Microkorgs are amazing.
As an investment it depends on what you're doing. Live shows microkorg works really great.
And if you have a good midisetup the synths on there are pretty ****ing amazing.
Plus the vocoder is beyond hours of enjoyment. Who DOESN'T like a vocoder?Comment

Yes a microkorg is amazing. Here is a video of me using mine! I've been able to get a lot of Enter Shikari sounds out of it as well.

I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?
