so about 2 weeks ago or so i got a wrist injury on my left hand from playing hockey, im wondering how long something like that would take to heal? because its been 2 weeks and i'm kind of worried. if i rotate it up when im carrying something it hurts, other then that normally without any stress on it, it is fine and there is no pain. so how much time should i give it? and do you think i need to see a doctor?

If you do as lumph's avatar does, you won't even have to bend your wrist. +1
Anyway, yeah you should probably see a doctor. Whenever you get a sports injury it's best to have it looked at. If nothing else he or she can recommend to wear a brace or something, which you should start doing regardless of whether or not you go. You can get them at any drugstore.
Late Edit: Actually, your symptoms describe a condition I have. In my left wrist, I have something called a "ganglion cyst," it's a buildup of synovial fluid in a cyst structure, most commonly occurring on the wrist. It doesn't hurt unless I bend my wrist to around as far as I can bend it, otherwise it's completely painless. However, I haven't heard of ganglion cysts being caused by sports; mine just popped up when I woke up one day. It had happened several times before the exact same way, but eventually it got better. Unfortunately this latest one was much more severe, so the only way it'll go away completely is if I get surgery. It isn't enough of a nuisance to do that until summer though.
If you're not sure that hockey actually caused the injury, you might want to look this up. It's also called a "bible bump," named for the old method of treatment: slamming down on the cyst with a heavy book like the Bible, rupturing it.Last edited by Relambrien; 02-12-2008, 10:03 PM.Comment
