    Valentine's Day kinda sucks.

    It's coming up in a few days. Do you have anyone special in your life that is going to burn a hole in your wallet on the 14th?
    I will be dropping at least a hundred bucks on dinner...that's not even considering the flowers...card...possible teddy bear. I'm so screwed.

      The whole month of February sucks for me, mainly because of Valentine's Day. Though not for the reasons you might think.

      No, I don't have anyone special. No, I never have. Do I plan on getting one any time soon? Let me put it this way: with everything else I'm doing, getting a girlfriend would only benefit me more than it would hurt me IF it was one specific person. Otherwise, it's just not worth it. I'm content as I am, so I'm not worried about it

      Rather, everyone else around me is. My mother keeps bugging me about it, my friends keep patronizing me about it, it's really, really annoying. And they do this throughout February, because of Valentine's Day, which is why February sucks for me.

          Being in a relationship is only as good as the person you are in it with. It never bothered me that I was single until I met the person I wanted to be with. Then I didn't want to be single anymore. I think that's the way it should be.

                  My wallet is gonna become ashes after this month. Not only Valentine's Day, but my girlfriends birthday is just a week and a half later. Great....

                          fyi, its not about the amount of money you spend.

                          its about the thought behind it.

                          ways to be cute (and save money):
                          - Make your valentine card.
                          Its super cute if you actually put time into making a card with your own words and feelings rather than using someone else's idea =]

                          - Make dinner for your parter.
                          Same thing. I realize it costs money to buy food too, but its adorable if you go to all the trouble to make food and have a romantic dinner, candles, cliche, etc.

                          Whatever else you buy is above and beyond, but i just want to say dont stress on the money factor. If you guys really love each other, Im sure its not gonna break you up if you dont go out to eat somewhere fancy and you dont buy him/her a 4.99 card from walgreens.


                          edit- to answer your original question, I do have a girlfriend, and we're actually gonna be at a spice girls concert on valentines day très romantique

                                      I know where you are coming from Drugstore, I just don't mind spending the money, even if it leaves me eating ramen for 3 paychecks. Plus I can't cook. At all, but I usually something similar to making a card, though I normally buy a card and write something in there. Working at Walgreene's can come in handy once in a while.

                                              I, because of past mistakes, and current lack of anybody to really like in my school, have never had a girlfriend, and the chances of me getting one anytime soon are nanometers above zero, simply because you never know what is going to happen. In reality, I don't try to impress anybody, but when I am pretty much perfectly content with being single, why should I? Why waste the time, money, effort, and possibly the tears and frustration on somebody you are going to be with for maybe a month?

                                                          There's no reason to give a gift. If you guys feel that you need to eliminate all of your finances to show how much you love your boyfriend/girlfriend then you don't really understand what true love is all about.
