It probably seems that way because of the key configuration you are using. Perhaps switching to a setup that is more ergonomic for your natural finger placement would help you feel more comfortable using your index and middle fingers, which are, in my opinion, the two most powerful fingers for playing FFR.

So anyways i was thinking, what if a single miss didn't stop your combo? Instead, your combo kept going until 2 consecutive misses were made. I think this would provide a more realistic ranking system, and eliminate a lot of mashing.
A friend of mine plays with their middle and ring fingers. They've played piano all their life and say they have the best coordination with both of those fingers.
I used both index and middle fingers, but sometimes if I've been playing a lot of really long/really hard songs (Like when I go Hey look, avmiss fix, time to play through every song from 10-12/12) sometimes I'll switch to middle/ring if my index fingers can use a short break.
Huh, weird. My friend Logan (Loganz on FFR) does that with his right hand but I always thought it was extremely awkward and that the human anatomy would never have the same potential of mobility and flexibility as the alternation between the index and the middle, but after seeing this thread, I guess it does have to do with preference.
My ring fingers are longer than my index, but my cousins' index fingers are longer than their ring. Maybe this has something to do with it?
I used to play pettanko (It certainly does have a nice ring to it), but I switched like 10 months ago. Sometimes I still play like that, but I do way better with my middle and index fingers.
