Re: The Art Of War - Sun Tzu?
Are you reading original text or a commented translation?
Eh, well either way, you're right, it's a great book. It's not so mucha book I guess as to a "How To" guide. The contents basically fit into any category, just manipulated a bit to fit the situation.
I think this is my favorite excerpt:
"An army may be likented to water: water leaves dry the high placea and seeks the hollows; an army turns from strength and attacks emptiness. The flow of water is regulated by the shape of the ground; victory is gained by acting in accordance with the state of the enemy."Last edited by Raveren; 01-21-2008, 09:50 PM.“A painter paints his pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence. We provide the music, and you provide the silence.” -Leopold Stokowski -

I actually picked this up a while ago but have not gotten around to it yet. Too many others books in line first. I am looking forward to reading it some time though.Comment

You can tell whether a book is good or not based on how many horrible books about business and finance success have ripped it off for content.
By those criteria, The Art of War is the greatest book ever made.Comment
