TK_pavonineukon cuts things so you don't have to

    Lol, title.

So, here's the deal. I was inspired to take over this duty that I think the FFR community dearly needs because of this inspiring television add:

"Do you hate it when someone makes fun of your 'emo' hair and you just want to go in your room and cut, cut, cut? Do your fingers cramp because of that dull blade you use 24/7 on your wrists? Well, I'm here to help you. I will cut things for you so you don't have to!"

Well, of course I interpreted it differently, as in, "cut songs for you".

    *sigh* Commercials...

Anyways, sounds good, right? But you have to follow this format when suggesting a song cut.

    Format For Suggestions

    Song Title:
    Artist:
    Link To Song:
    Original Song Length:
    Wanted Song Length:
    Wanted Sections of the Song:

Descriptions (so you illiterate puppies don't get confused)

    Song Title/Artist:
    Do I need to explain?

    Link To Song:
Downloadable link to the song uploaded on rapidshare.com or any other free uploading website.

    Original Song Lenth:
So I know wheter or not it's really worth my time to cut your songs.
*Please avoid submitting songs over 10 minutes. That's just pain to try and cut.*

    Wanted Song Length:
So I know what and what not to cut.

    Wanted Sections of the Song:
i.e. 1:32-2:05. This is to prevent me from spoiling any of the ideas you had in mind for some portions of the song.

Only ask one song cut at a time to prevent stress over all the songs I need to cut. Also, if any flaming goes around here on this topic about how I accidently cut 2 seconds off the moment of silence in your beloved song, I will probably never, EVER make a song cut for you again. Be nice, people. I'm giving you all a chance to avoid the negative comments given to your files for being too long, so cooperate with me. Of course, you can give me some constructive critisism on the cut if I really did something wrong with it, but don't blow yourself up from all the anger you have bottled up against the cut I made for you.

So, whaddya' wainting for? Ask Pav!

Abbreviations of my s/n that make me go or make me want to rip my eyeballs out of their sockets:

Or, you could always simply make a tutorial of how to do it in Audacity.

Re: TK_pavonineukon cuts things so you don't have to

Yah, right after I posted this I was thinking about making a tutorial for making song cuts. I'll do that soon enough, but I just wanted to help people out, and this was the chance for me to do something productive in the FFR community besides creating simfiles, which I don't know is productive if it's just making the simfile queue bigger. talisman created a thread about syncing songs, so I thought it'd be appropriate if I made one about cutting songs, just to help the simartists a bit. However, I know some people are fully against song cuts and say that the way the artist made the song is the way the song should always sound - in complete length. If that is true, then why make cuts in the first place? Well, to reduce the amount of time spent listening to a song while dancing to the patterns of the music or tapping your fingers to the rhythm of the beats, just how DDR/ITG/PIU and many SM/FFR songs are handled.

So, please, don't ignore this thread because you like your song at 10 minutes in length or don't believe in cutting songs whatsoever. I'm trying to help you guys out by helping you get better feedback from your simfiles when they are entered into the queue. Believe me, newcomers to the simfile creating scene don't get their first debut in FFR with an over-lengthed song. It just doesn't happen as long as you have no experience creating various patterns throughout the entire song. Shortened songs are also easier to step because you don't really have to worry about repetition in the stepcharts since the pattern of the music changes constantly. Furthermore, they are usually more fun to play because of the differentiating steps rather than sitting through a 15-minute song of absolute finger-mashing brutality.

In short, I'd really like to make song cuts because it isn't only for the benefit of you simfile artists, but it also makes the overall simfile more enjoyable to others when they don't have to play through half an hour of a song just to FC it. Sure, I'll make a thread showing you how to make a song cut for yourself, but for now, I'm just trying to make things easier for you, just how talisman was.

More like a request for a song than a cut but ok... I hope this'll work out as I am your first customer! Could you find a DJ Shapnel song that is not yet in FFR and cut it to a 1:30-2:30 version, that would be nice of ya. I'd pay ya maybe 500-1000 credz for effort if ya do it and I like song/cut

Sorry for the late reply, but "a DJ Sharpnel song" is waaaaaaaay too broad of a suggestion. I'd like you to be more specific and fill out the format as much as you can. He's made 100's of songs, so just telling me to find one really good DJ Sharpnel song that hasn't already been overstepped is going to be hard to find.

I appreciate the credits gift, but just remember, it's not necessary.
