    CBS football SUCKS

    So, I was just watching the Tennessee/San Diego playoff game. Here's how it went at one point.

    *Commercial Break*
    One kickoff return that lasts 2 seconds. *Commercial Break*
    Three and out and a punt by SD (2 minutes). *Commercial Break*
    Three and out for TEN. (90 seconds)*Commercial Break*
    Punt by TEN. (10 seconds)*Commercial Break*

    American TV sucks.

              That would definitely be the NFL. It's a hot property that pulls in a load of advertising at insane amounts. Especially during playoffs and the Super Bowl, any time where the ball isn't in play is grounds for the station pulling on the money lever. It's not just CBS.

                  Right, but CBS tends to be especially prone to lack of actual football content. When I was watching the Bucs and Giants on FOX earlier, there was a big difference.

                          Well, I, for one, wouldn't at all argue that the quality of broadcasting is definitely suck on CBS. I stick to FOX for NFL broadcasts.

                              Football period has to many breaks in it. All you Americans do is take an English sport and slow it down to an inane speed.

                              Cricket --> Baseball
                              Rugby --> Football

                              Watch a sport that's constant like soccer, basketball, or hockey.

                                  I just noticed that too.

                                  They should get rid of commercial breaks after kickoffs, and that is for all channels.

                                      I do. Minus the basketball anyway. I even play the rugby games that come out for PS2. The only reason I don't really watch it is because it rarely shown on our tvs.

                                      I even watch curling when it's on during the Olympics, so, yeah, I'm exempt from the "American sports scolding."

                                                      This is standard across the board.

                                                      When a game has no stops, there are fewer commercials. Every time the clock stops for enough time to air a commercial (15 seconds or more), they will air an ad.

                                                      This applies to ESPN, CBS, NBC, and FOX. When it's really short, sometimes they'll just make the announcers do the ad themselves. Either it's for "brought to you by" or "here's what's on this network later".

                                                      Personally, I like FOX best only because their layout for the scores and such is informative and unobtrusive.

                                                      So no. It's not just CBS.
