    Re: Buzzz

Buzz is hard to learn, and since it is open source freeware it is liable to crash often. However, Buzz is a great DAW that is comparable to FL, ACID, Reason or anything else out there. I personally use FL and have been an FL user forever. I see FL, ACID, and Reason as a triad of goodness; all three are great programs, all three have great potential. Check out some demos and feel it out.

I've used a demo of FL before (but not the other ones) and was disappointed when I found out I couldn't save my precious work.

I downloaded Buzz, but I can not get the bloody thing to work.

I came across a downloadable free version of Magix Music Maker. I haven't found any information on it so I'm not sure if I should down it or not. Can anyone tell me if Magix is worth my time, or should I give Buzz another shot?

        is to the download

Yeah, buzz works and doesn't work when it wants to. What operating system are you running? If it's vista, buzz doesn't support it. XP, buzz works, you have to run the fixit kit (and choose the install option), which should open when you install the most recent pack. There is also this thing called an overloader that you have to install. You should be prompted to install all of this in the set up.

Most problems I came across were simply because I didn't install it properly. What is your particular problem?

I think I found my problem: I have vista. now I don't know how to uninstall this trash. I'm trying to look for something new program to download. I found this Magix thing, but I haven't dl'ed it yet. am I forsaken for having a Vista?

I just watched a small clip on music maker, since I had never before really looked into it. It seems to encompass what you need for a basic DAW, and it never hurts to check out any and every program. ^_^

I just saw the video (www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9M5C9a4e6Y) and the thing that caught my attention was the MIDI editor. does this mean I'll be able to plot individual notes using a MIDI instrument, or will I have to download instruments or connect an external instrument to plot individual notes?

(thanks, Sleepless for the idea. Didn't think of looking for a video clip)
