I was thinking a tournament could be organized like March Madness. In each division people will be ranked. There can be multiple skill level divisons as usual or one gigantic tournament with everyone in the same tournament bracket.
For example 32 people are ranked in the beginner division ranging from 32 being the worst, to 1 being the best. There would be 16 people matched up in the first round rank 32 versing rank 1, rank 31 versing rank 2 etc.
The matches don't necessary have to be only one song. they can be cumulative scores of multiple songs. The bracket should be set up so that ranks 1 and 2 can both make it to the finals without facing eachother. (again like March Madness)
Back to the example: The first and second rounds are one song, the third and fourth rounds are three songs, and the final round is five songs. Player A (rank 1) scores 400,000 500,000 and 600,000 points in the third round. Player B (rank 6) scores 500,000 600,000 and 300,000 points in the third round. Player A would win because their total score is 1,500,000 while player B's total score is 1,400,000.
In the event of a tiebreak an additional song is selected. (like usual) If there are multiple tiebreakers in the same round different tiebreaker songs might need to be selected depending on the skill levels of the players. Obviously there have to be the right amount of people to make sure there are no byes.
I am not making a tournament right now but any of you can use this idea for future tournaments or modify it to you're liking
