    Suggestion - Song: Bananaphone

    I thought that this would be a pretty amazing song to put up in R1. A hilarious song that would be very entertaining and much played song making me and many other R1 players very happy. I don't know if you can make this happen, but if so, that would be great.

              Oh yeah, I remember a long time ago synth demanding funny songs to be put on the game. That was when that chemical symbol song type thing was released awhile back.

                          "that chemical symbol song"

                          do you mean Tom Lehrer's classic song from the 1960's, Elements? set to the 1920s classic Modern Major General... which was made famous by actor Danny Kaye (i believe).

                          Lehrer was one of the pioneers of modern comedic song, specializing in political satire in the 60s and 70s. Guys like Weird Al or Dr Demento wouldn't exist if it weren't for Lehrer or Alan Sherman setting the stage before them.

                              Yeap. I totally forgot the name. I haven't played that song in months. Possibly haven't played it in ½ a year now.

                                              I wonder, did/do we have permission to use Lehrer stuff? I really think that "Dead puppies aren't much fun" ought to be added in somewhere *grin*

                                                  I got permission for Lehrer's stuff, yes.

                                                  As far as Weird Al... Synth and I tried contacting his label rep many many times over the past 8-10 months, without ever getting an answer or call back. BUT... he's signed to Sony/BMG, who we currently have an excellent relationship with. It is possible that the label will force the rep into talking with us at some point.
