Local Metal Artist with an Arcade Twist

Asher is a local Guitarist in the local band Apocryphal. He is currently giving us permission to step a single song on his solo project being Song of Storms but in the future we may get some more permissions.

UPDATE: He now refuses to give the file out. He thought I worked for them and then when I tried to at least give Rebirth the file as technically he works for FFR as a mod he got pissed off and left the conversation. If anybody who is an excellent SM artist really wants to get this...I'm not sure if he'll like this but again e-mail him but don't spam him and include examples of your work by telling him where they are on FFR as that was the reason he wouldn't let me step them. So as of now our permission is revoked I guess but...it's possible to get it back.

UPDATE2: Through the magic of the internet I have the file and he has not officially revoked his permission. If we can get one really good person to step this and put it on I can guarantee that he'll give us more songs and we will hit the Rock Arcade Remix Jackpot!

I prayed to the internet gods and his magic worked...I have obtained the song. He has not officially taken away permission however I doubt FFR wants to be sneaky ect. I now simply need somebody who's godly at making stepfiles to make this. I can e-mail you the song IF you want to step it and nothing more. Simply just post here that you want to do it. When you have it done I will simply tell him that it's done ect and he will probably give in as he wants to do this but he doesn't want to do work ect.

i'm not cool with that. if he won't give you the song himself, that seems like a revoking of permission to me.

I know...he wants the song in FFR but he doesn't want to give it to me cause he thinks I'm lying to him or somthing because I don't work for FFR. This is why if we can get something stepped, after asking you I would send him the SM file we're using showing him that it is done and ready to go. If after all this he says no...well...it would make a great addition to the simfile database but I'm almost dead sure he will say yes. I'm still reasoning with him over MSN and I think he would be more prone to say yes if somebody who worked here (*cough* Tass) would tell him that we're serious about making his music. I think he just needs to know how things work around here...again I can talk to my friend which is his friend about this. Also I think Drugstore would help because he seems to have that magic touch.

                Code:
hey man, Tyler told me you wanted to make a map for it. I thought you downloaded the song from limewire, which im really interested in how you did that!! as for me sending you songs, i only sent him 2 Zelda covers, and 1 other one i wrote for my solo project. heres what im doing so you can understand a bit better.

I am guitarist and song writer. Right now the main thing im working on is a solo project. Like, i have a bunch of guitar music that i've written, and im planning to make a demo for it. and if people like it, ill get a band together and play some shows, and if THAT gets somewhere, then who knows, i could even do a small tour or open shows for some big name bands.

Recently I joined a band called Apocryphal, which is a metal band.

Also a friend in newfoundland and i are working on 2 short cds.

From time to time ill make little things in my spare time. For example, covers. Strictly for fun, and for the practice of recording. Pretty much all the time I send my songs to my friends to see if they like and how i could improve and stuff.
i hope now you see that i dont live off covering video game music :P.

I dont believe that you "simply want to listen" to my music. i think you want to make a map for FFR or SM, and then send to me and somehow convince me to let you send it to FFR.

the only reason i dont want send song of storms to FFR, is (and im proabbly mis understanding this)......
in the permission thing where im saying, i give permission to ffr to use my song blah blah blah.
I do not want FFR to like..own my song. I just want to let them use a song for their game, that i sitll have control over. like i could have them take it down if i wanted them to.

and if an admin serious wants my email. prove it to me and ill think about it. wait..if they read the thread then they know how to contact me.............wasnt my myspace links on them?
I will send you my Zelda cover IF and only if the admin talks to me about music. If you truly want to simply listen to my music. Song of Storms is on my myspace. www.myspace.com/asheriscool

my song of storms cover is the only song ffr will be allowed to use that i made. i dont write music for them and i dont want all my music to have been for a silly computer game. Song of Storms seems appropriate for this, and i dont care about song of storms like i care about my real music. which is why song of storms gets to go on ffr if the admin truly wants it.

holy long ass email eh? haha
well anyway i hope youre a little more understanding of why im a little protective of my music.

                Take care.

I can't use anything for FFR until you give the OK so I won't be doing anything with it. I just simply want to listen to it. So can you send some songs?

Also an Admin stumbled upon the thread and wouldn't mind talking to you about the music. Should I give him your e-mail or not?

i'm not still not comfortable with it if there is a chance he's going to revoke permission down the road.... no, we wouldn't own his song. the rights of his cover are still owned by the original copyright holder of the zelda: OoT soundtrack... but I most certainly would not want something that was added to the game to be removed at a later time, for any reason.
