    Fruity Loops Qs

How do you fade in/out or stop a effect. Like, for example, FX_Toilings is a pretty cool effects, but it's like a minute logn, is there anyway to shorten it?

Also (Maybe this is just because I have the beta ) But how do you create songs in the song category thing? I can only make them in the patterns section. (The two buttons left of the play button)

In FL, goto your mixer. You have to get to the event editor for that effect. I believe you have to right click something...You can control it from there, though.

Fx_Toilings is a wav sample not an effect. To shorten it you can open it in any wav editor and cut out the sections you dont want. Or you can automate FL to mute the sound at the time you want it to stop.

The song mode you mentioned plays the sequence of patterns on the playlist. if you dont know what the playlist is or does, I suggest you read a tutorial or two, as it is very important.

Ohhhhhhh! Aero, you must know FL inside out. I'm gonna sit down, cause it's not my area of expertise.

You can automate wet/dry levels. Right click on events and go to edit events. Wet/dry is an important function that is available on all plugins except distortions and eq/filters. Those you'll just need to adjust the boosts and that's that.

there are a few ways you can go about this.
every channel in the pattern editor (click on the block that says "FX_Toilings" and a window will come up)
click on the misc tab, then right click on the volume knob and go edit events.

now, you'll have a window that looks somewhat like the piano roll.
There are a few horizontal lines marking checkpoints on the knob. The middle one marks the middle setting for the knob, which in this case is 100% volume, any higher will boost it, so, right-click and drag from the middle to the bottom for as many bars as you want the effect to last.
make sure you do this in a seperate pattern and label it, then just play the pattern along with the sound.

Another solution is easier. in the "SMP" section of the channel window, you will seee an in knob and an out knob, tweak the out knob and it will show the wavefor get smaller as it goes on, which fades it out.
