Somehow, FCs that do not exceed previous non-FC scores on a song do not get listed. It appears the FCs on your profile are directly linked to the stars on the rank-list, which means your FC does not count if your PA on a near-FC was better. Am I right? And if I am, isn't this unfair? I might be mistaken, but after not getting an additional FC on my profile twice in this manner, I suspect it works like this.

Yes, non-FC's with better scores do overwrite a FC score, but it really does make sense. Any non-FC score beating a FC score typically has the miss very near the beginning or end.
Say you normally get 20-ish goods on some song, but then you manage to get a SDG on the same song later on... but you miss the last note. Well, if you have good enough PA to do the second attempt, then why don't you simply try again?
Not missing that single note shouldn't be that bad. I think a miss on the last note is about the same point loss as about 4 goods, if I'm not mistaken. A few more tries should eventually lead you to beating that non-FC score with the same PA you got earlier.
If you have the PA to beat your old score without a FC, then a FC with the same PA will easily beat it.Originally posted by Phynx

Sure, I should be able to get the FC with better PA, but still itīs strange...it means that rather than trying to make the best from a non-FC, one should get massive boos on the last seconds of a song if the combo is lost near the end, so the score won't be so high. I mean, the FC bar should show the number of FCs, not the number of FCs with great PA or something.Sick natureComment

It is much easier to simply pull up your saved best scores and see if they are full combos than it is to store a second number when you have a full combo, to remember that you got your FC even if you later get a higher score that wasn't an FC.
I'd say you can either have a better score that wasn't an FC simply -not register- as a new best score, or you can have it so that the better score that wasn't an FC -does- register as your new best rank, but lose your FC. YOu can't have it both ways.Comment

stepmania works this way too, fyi. if you get a AAA... then get a AA that is a higher score, your rank in SM shows as a AA, not a AAA.
we only score your highest score in the db. to do more would just be... massive.RIPComment

other than old scores, some FCs of FGO songs aren't counted as FC.

and some of the fgo songs are counted as fcs wayyy easier. my rank 7 on piano etude had a miss with like 16 notes to go and i had over 200 goods but i got the fc.
