When i change the speed in settings of some songs, how come the song itself doesn't speed up? how is that even possible?

It puts more space in between the arrows and makes them go faster. Basically, 2.0x makes it so there is twice as much space inbetween the arrows and they go 2x faster. Same with 1.75x, there is 1.75x more space inbetween the arrow and they go 1.75x faster. -
