    Trent Reznor Encourages Illegal Music Downloads

    Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor has slammed greedy record label bosses charging "rip-off" prices for CDs - encouraging fans to steal his music from the internet.
    In a tirade posted on YouTube, Trent asks fans at a gig in Sydney, Australia, if prices had reduced since the last time he was there.
    After a chorus of "no's" were heard, Trent told the audience to illegally download his music and pass it on to friends until the label stops "ripping people off."

                                      You guys do know that music artists make very little money from their album sales, right? Most of the money goes to the record company, since they literally own the rights to the songs.

                                      And I think I see where Synth is going, but if FFR were to use a song because he "gave permission", it doesn't matter, because he doesn't even own the rights to his own songs.

                                              Luckily he has to produce only one more album for those ****ers, and then he's free.

                                              Personally, I love his $4 per album through PayPal DRM-free and high bitrate deal.

                                                      You have to love Trent. Album sales don't really give them much money anyway. They get all their money from playing shows, and selling merch while there. A band that I'm good friends with, signed with Science Records, tole me the record sales only give them money if they're bought at shows.
