        Ignore that remark...

...On another note... What program you use?

If you really want to be able to do whatever the hell you want, and be limitless, I would definately go with Acid Pro 6, and get Absynth 4.x as a VST while you're at it... You can't go wrong... And once you really get into the music scene after a lot of practice, you can even start making industry standard tracks, using those same industry standard programs since the beginning...

That and for further explanation refer to the stickied thread about programs to make music...

        Hope this helped a bit

Of course FL is great to use! Barely any learning curve! Can pick it up and learn quick! And it's great to make simple music! ...To an extent...

Acid really opens up the world to music production! There is a reason (haha no pun intended) FLS is a slave to Acid

                    ACID is great

...if you have a studio to work with, not to mention a high budget. It's wave based, and it's integration with VSTs compared to other programs is sloppy. As a sound sequencer, it's one of the best programs on the market, as a midi sequencer, it just doesn't work as well as others.

ACID also comes with barely any VST plugins, and most of the time, you have to load your own. This can heavily cripple a producer with a little budget.

And Zajac, don't go bashing FL just because it's notorious for being a program that is used to make "simple songs," as you stated. If you know what you're doing, FL can be one of the most powerful audio sequencers on the face of the planet. Just look what Basshunter, Kid606, and Saxon7 have done with FL. Simply stunning.

I'm not bashing you or ACID at all, I'm simply saying I'm tired of FL getting the comments as "An armatures studio," because, quite frankly, it's not.

Now, to continue with the point of this thread:
Other programs that have a remarkably high learning curve, but are remarkably powerful are programs like Logic (For mac), Cubase, and Reason. All are great sequencers in the world of electronica.

Re: good program for making techno plz!

...Acid, for the record, is not MINE...

You can bash on it if you want. Or not.

I actually use Acid as master and FL& Reason as slaves when I need to.

Acid also being 'waved based',as you say, is a very good thing. Wouldn't you rather use a program that you can do simply whatever the crap you want with uncompressed files?

Besides. Using Acid to apply VSt effects to samples and instruments is no different than FL's in the sence that you get a different result depending on how you stack your VST's, that and FL's list goes down, and Acid's goes sideways. Big whoopdy freakin doo.

Acid also comes with just as many Sony VST's standalone, as FL does standalone. But then again, when you bring up that subject, what kind of 'Producer' would use the only VST's that come only with FL? Same thing with Acid. Any good 'Producer' would download a crapload of extra VST's and such to have at his/her disposal. ...Your comment about Acid not having that many VST's at your disposal is like saying 'Hi. I plan on making industry standard music on JUST FL's VST's alone.'

And Acid having a crappy midi sequencer? ...You used Acid6 yet? You tried Inline Midi Editing? More possibilities in actually what is a better graphic user interface, can be found in Acid6 by simply pressing 'G'.

Re: good program for making techno plz!

fruity is good software as long as you have good vsts and samples to couple it with. concord dawn, i believe produces in fruity and they make some amazing drum'n bass. i'm a great fan of their work. i know other big names also use it. it's good software, otherwise it wouldn't sell as well as it does. it's not nearly the best. it has pretty dramatic weak points. it appeals greatly to the amateur producer, and is abused in such a way. that's the only reason why you see crappy music coming out of it. it's not about the software, it's about the producer.

acid is the best software i've tried producing on. i've tried a lot of software: garageband, fruity loops, renoise, reason, cubase, and acid. it seems really user friendly, hands on, and the interface is great. everything is editable right in front of you, no external software is really needed for synths or effects. the vst integration is better than FL in my opinion and the use of buses is much more user friendly than that of FL or any other software i've used. the midi capabilities are much better than FL as of the version 6.0 release of acid pro. it has a complete piano roll and all the automations you can imagine, not to mention a great ability to making patterns dynamic.

EDIT: acid does come with only a few vsts. but a quick visit to www.kvraudio.com will allow you access to hundreds, if not thousands, of free vsts. you can also purchase a wide variety of vsts from that site. i go there for my vst effect and generator needs.

i find that FL is a great piece of software to start on because it allows the layman to understand the basics of production and expand his horizons. if it wasn't for fruity i would have had a hell of a time understanding acid. so it's great for beginners, but i think that if one is to expand into a more professional, industry standard of production he is forced into either purchasing expensive vsts or changing his software platform, in my opinion.

that is my long analysis of fruity and acid.
i'm not overly bashing or praising either. i'm only being realistic.
thanks to those of you who actually read the whole thing.
