    Well, what do you know. Turns out the iPod touch is a reality after all. While we initially assumed that Mr. Jobs wouldn't be so kind as to bless us all with two new full-fledged iPods in a single day, we're elated that he had other ideas. The new flagship iPod has "the same size screen as the iPhone, but it's even thinner" (eight-millimeters, for those taking notes), and it also touts the "same multi-touch interface" found on the firm's handset. Additionally, it boasts a 3.5-inch widescreen display, the ability to "flick through your photos," and you even get the "slide to unlock" feature, too. And yes, this thing actually has WiFi. Of note, the built-in wireless antenna isn't exactly attractive, but if it means that we can surf the web (YouTube included) and buy tunes on our iPod, we suppose it may be an acceptable flaw. As for battery life, the touch is said to last 22-hours when playing back audio and 5-hours when watching video, but only time will tell how draining web surfing will be. The iPod touch will be arriving in 8GB and 16GB flavors and will be priced at $299 and $399, respectively, when they ship "worldwide in a few weeks."%Gallery-6916%


    Seems that that helped trigger an iphone cost drop too which is handy.

      That looks just like the iPhone to me, but nonetheless it looks cool

      $300 isn't that bad at all

              Ill probably just end up sticking to my video anyways because i only use the music anyways, alothough the wifi looks nice. Looks like an iphone without phone capabilities.

                              tibs - not so with the iphone. i completely agree about the ipod and imacs, i have a creative zen player, but the iphone is really a standalone product. the touch keyboard is great after getting used to it, and it syncs up easily to your computer. once you get on a wifi connection the speed isn't bad, and the scrolling and zooming capabilities make using it to view the internet worthwhile.

                                      You're talking to a guy who has no idea what his phone is called and only cares for its ability to make phone calls.
                                      I've never played a game or taken a photo or whatever the fuck it is you kids do with your phones these days.

                                              that is all my current phone does right now as well, and all i really care about. iphones are great though for busy working people who are constantly emailing and on the move. the guys i work for have them and they use them constantly.

                                                      My father has a Palm with built-in cell that beats the **** out of the iPhone.

                                                      Actually, basically all PDA-phones beat iPhones, they just don't go HYPE HYPE HYPE

                                                          Yea and on top of the phone touch they came out with a new ipod nano. I'm actually really pissed off that apple did this, first of all some of those features on the touch are better than the iphones. Also the price is hella cheaper for having almost all the same features. If they really wanted the iphone to sell they wouldn't have done this cuz people can buy a like 10 dollar phone and just carry that around and therefore they are saving so much money and as an iphone owner i am very upset.
