Holy **** good movie
I read the book earlier this year and was very excited for the movie release. I thought it could translate well into a movie, but I was truly blown away. For those of you who haven't read Neil Gaiman's masterpiece, it was an attempt for him to write an english fairy tale. The movie and the book have the feel of a work for a younger audience, and then catch you off-guard with a joke or reference that a younger audience wouldn't appreciate. The characters are all superbly acted and true to their origins, save Victoria, who is much less of a heartless bitch in the movie then she appeared to me in the book. This movie was pure fun. Certainly the best book-to-movie translation I've ever seen, and probably my favorite movie overall this year. Go see it immediately.
