When you're making stepfiles how do you increase the arrow speed?

I tried to make it go faster by using 2x the tempo but it only speeds up until the first arrow. If I don't have any arrows it just crashes. so what's the problem

Adjusting The spacing of the arrows is under "player options"

Next time actually pay attention to the editor, and notice that you can push F1 for help.

I think it's F7/F8 to adjust the bpm. That's what I do.
