MARATHON TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Each round will contain three songs per level.

For example

ESC Superversion - CIA Rave - Air

The goal of the tournament is to play the three songs consecutively as a course(like the courses in ddr and itg). The course can be started from the beginning(ESC Superversion) over and over again. However the second song can only be played after the first song and the third song can only be played after the second song. The goal is to get the best overall score on the course.

What the course system does most effectively is to remove the ability to song whore. Instead of whoring a song to get a randomly good score, participants must be consistently good at all three songs to get progress through the tourney.

Scoring
Will work one of two ways

Solution 1 - total all of the scores together from the three songs.

Example if someone obtained these scores
ESC - 100000
CIA - 75000
Air - 1000000
the total score would be 1175000

Solution 2(Unlikely) - find FFR's scoring algorithm and add (max combo - perfects - goods - almosts- misses - boos) together to essentially make the course one song.

Example
ESC(312c-300p-12g-1a-4m-2b)
CIA(1007c-1006p-1g-0a-0m-0b)
Air(200c-759p-310g-23a-27m-20b)
the score would be calculated from the total(1519c-1159p-323g-36a-31m-22b)

There is a possibility that solutions 1 and 2 will give the exact same scores. I don't know the scoring system so I cant say.

On the tournament scoreboard scores will show up like the following example:
[(perfects-goods-average-misses-boos-combo)total score]song1score, song2score, song3score

Tie Breakers
It will be really hard to tie with someone in this tournament format but if it happens...

Tiebreaks will be determined by the individual song scores submitted. Every person will be ranked on each individual song and these ranks will give points. 1st on a song gives 1 point 2nd gets 2 and so on. Whoever has the least amount of points in this comparison wins the tiebreaker.

For Example
Player A Total = 23000pts S1- 8000pts S2-9000pts S3-6000
Player B Total = 23000pts S1- 7000pts S2-5000pts S3-11000

In this scenario Player A would have 4 points and Player B would have 5. Therefore player A would win the tiebreak. I won't go into a double tiebreak scenario unless it is necessary.

Score Submission
To submit scores you must provide:
A screenshot for each song
A screen of your last 10 games played sheet on your profile that confirms that you did the songs in the right order.

You can submit as many scores as you want and the best will be used.

I will not accept PMs. Post all of your scores in the forum.

Tournament Levels and Elimination
There will be four tournament levels.*Edit*Bronze will be from tricky to very difficult, Silver will be from difficult to challenging, Gold will be from very difficult to very challenging, Platinum will be from very challenging+. These difficulties refer to the average difficulty of the course and therefore individual songs can go above or below these limits.*/Edit*

With this format, elimination will be bottom X scores eliminated and X will be determined by #of participants and #of rounds. I hope to make the tournament have around 6 to 7 rounds.

Rounds will last for 3 days and all rounds will end at 11:59pm.I will give a 5 minute late window for submissions. ANYTHING SUBMITTED PAST THAT FIVE MINUTE WINDOW WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Registration
As of now participants pick what level they should be in but if someone is willing to help divide people into the right tourney levels, I will give them 2000 credits(thanks for helping with this rshadow). Be honest about what level you should be in, if you get caught playing in a lower level than you should be in its an automatic DQ. Alternate accounts will not be allowed and you must have at least 250 games played by the registration date to enter. Sign ups will last until July 13th.

Prizes
There are no definite prizes for the tourney yet. Im starting the total prize pool at 10000 credits and increasing it based on how many credits i gain throughout the course of the tournament(The way I play FFR this pool will probably be much higher by the end of the tourney). Credit donations for the prize pool are welcome and will also increase the prize pool for the tourney.
