    Anyone here playing SM on vista?

    Seems after i upgraded from xp to vista (even though i love vista) my MA has hit the fan. I went from nearly quading songs to like 30-40 perfs.

      vista sucks for stepmania. go back to what you were using if you want a good MA.

          Which version of vista are you using? I am on Vista Premium on a Dell Inspiron e1705 laptop powered by the T7200 Intel core2duo 2.0ghz at 667 mhz fsb, 1 GB 667 pc2 ram, Integrated graphics. I run SM 3.9 with no problems at all, on the other hand in 4.0 i would get the nasty Display driver reset and screen would blank out for a second, but then come right back. I have no issues with vista playing it worse, if not better. MA wise I'm now playing on Judge 6 and I am only getting better. You may want to think about your hardware before doing a Vista Upgrade

              Vista runs SM no differnt than XP would. Are you using the same keyboard as you were with XP?

                  i upgrated my xp to a vista and now i can't even use SM because my video card needs to be upgrated too.

                      Unless it isnt DirectX 9 or OpenGL 1.1 capable look for a driver update. Let Vista troll the internet for the driver. Or go to the manufactures site. Again I cannot stress the fact that I have integrated Graphics and Aero Runs beautifully. All i play is FFR and SM no need for a graphics card, could use another Gig of ram though.

                          Im using vista ultimate, 8800gts 640mb, opty 175, 2gb patriot 2,3,2,5, neo 2 plat mobo, x-fi platinum, 3x HDD (1x120gb 2x160gb)

                          Ive been playing SM for nearly 5 years, and have always been up there with the best playing index, but it seems vista screwed my timing up.

                          I love vista for the fact that i can play shadowrun with the GF (since she has a 360)

                          maybe my g15 is going down hill lol.

                              no need for a graphics card? sounds good to me. i guess i'll have to pay like 30 bucks for a driver update though. i don't have a CC and my parents would think it's a waste of moneys, so i can't ask them.

                              sigh...i need a job.
