What do you hate in DDR?

To me, latest DDR games, such as Supernova and Universe, are all just collections of previous songs and stepfiles from the last games, like DDR Extreme, DDR Extreme 2, etc. Sometimes the songs can be boring (everybody knows placing those old songs in DDR ain't good), and stepfiles and gameplay can be a little too...easy.

Give your ideas to the community. What do you hate in DDR?
Many people today play DDR Extreme, DDR Supernova and later. But I still play 1st and 2nd mix in the arcades. Too bad for me.

    .

    PRESENT DAY
Man: I'm going to play DDR 1st Mix today.
Man 2: SO what? I'm playing Supernova 2 today.
Man: What the hell is Supernova?
Man 2: Go back to the 60's, noob.

Re: What do you hate in DDR?

I hate the same way you do. The steps are usually easy, half of the time the same song is in it from another one of their games, and the game usually never differs from the other ones.

For instance, In the Groove uses their old songs again, but adds new ones. This makes it so you don't need to buy the first one to have those songs. Dance Dance puts half of their old songs in another new game, such as, like Spongy stated, Supernova. Blue Impulse(for Extreme) (I think) was in DDR Extreme 2, and they placed it in Supernova. They also placed MAX 300 Super-Max-Me mix in Ultramix 2, then again in Supernova. I just can't figure that out.

What I do now is check the songs in the DDR game before I buy it. This way, I make sure I don't as many older songs in it.

I pretty much hate it do to the fact old songs are in it from older DDR games.

Re: What do you hate in DDR?

I don't like DDR that much because there isn't alot of variety in mods, all of the songs have the same patterns for steps (pretty much) and are easy and mediocre. The note skins make it hard to distinguish what kind of note it is and actually play well, and the speedmods seem to have more of an effect than they should (this might be just the way I feel when I play, I'm not positive about this). Another reason is because they seem to underrate some of their songs. It's as if they're afraid to rate it over 10 feet. A song like Max 300 (which I can get a really bad 'A' on heavy on) is rated a 10. However, on ITG, I seem to be able to nearly get an A+ on some songs rated elevens, and the tens on the ITG machines are nowhere near as hard as a song like Max 300, which isn't even a boss song. I prefer ITG over DDR by a landslide. lol.

Well DDR has a much more strict step timing in ITG and the life difficulty in DDR is ridiculously high in AC versions, which would make it harder for you to pass 10-footers in DDR then some 11-footers in ITG. Also, DDR just doesn't seem to want to make hard songs now, and when they try to, they just do plain terrible at it.

I wish Konami would be more like Roxor. Why did they have to takeover ITG and cancel everything?

Intensez, Max 300 (Super-Max-Me Mix) was made in Ultramix 2.
        Out Now!

Your arcade probably turned up the life difficulty. I know mine did, to like, 6. Also, QFT, the Fascination songs suck horribly.

86-89% would translate to roughly an A on DDR. AA would be like, 95+. Also, MAX300 is pretty easy IMO compared to ITG 10s, like Tension.
Why would you put that in your signature? You've lost your signature rights for a month. (You'll get them back on March 10th, 2012.)

Tension is the hardest 10 on ITG imo. The others are alot easier.

Re: What do you hate in DDR?

I'm an ITG player, but there is a DDR at my work that I play in the morning when I have to "test" the games (I'm a tech).

-First, the pad feels a lot different on the DDR compared to the ITG pad, I don't know why, I just feel like whenever I hit something, it doesn't register.

-Way too many songs and most of them are very easy to beat. I don't really have to set goals in DDR like I do in ITG (get a ***, or put records up in the top 10)

-Since I play ITG, I'm used to the solid NOTE color arrows, and even though you can change them in DDR to NOTE, they are see through and very annoying with the background and characters they have dancing (Yes I know you can disable characters and stuff, but it is still troublesome)

-The announcer is annoying as ****.

-I don't feel like I have as much control over the song like I do in ITG. I always have the DDR songs set way too fast or way too slow.

That's about all I can think of =P

Instead of taking her out to a movie and buying her popcorn, bend her over the arm of a couch. It's very economical. Just make sure you are using the proper protection, because then it can become VERY, VERY GOD DAMN UNECONOMICAL if she pops a baby 9 months down the road.

                    Springs vs. sensors IIRC.

Because Konami is stupid and didn't include highscores for each song until SN, which still sucks.
